Stratus Automation Sdn Bhd in Penang is seeking a skilled CNC Milling Technician to set up, operate, and optimize precision milling for machined components.
You will read engineering drawings, select tools and parameters, perform 2D/3D milling operations, run programs, and inspect parts to ensure tight tolerances.
This role requires a Diploma/Certificate in Machining or related field, 2–5 years' experience, and the ability to work independently or in a team, with occasional overtime.

Set up and operate CNC milling machines to produce precision mechanical components.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and machining instructions.
Perform machine setup, including workpiece alignment, fixture installation, tool setting, and work offset adjustment.
Select appropriate cutting tools, machining parameters, and work‑holding methods based on material and drawing requirements.
Perform 2D/3D milling, drilling, tapping, pocketing, contouring, and other machining operations.
Load, edit, and execute CNC programs while making necessary adjustments to achieve required dimensions and tolerances.
Conduct first‑piece and in‑process inspections using measuring equipment such as vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMM where applicable.
Monitor machining processes and make adjustments to maintain product quality and dimensional accuracy.
Identify and troubleshoot machining issues such as tool wear, dimensional variation, surface finish problems, and machine abnormalities.
Replace and maintain cutting tools, fixtures, and other machining accessories.
Ensure all machined parts meet specified quality standards, tolerances, and surface‑finish requirements.
Maintain accurate records of production, inspection results, tool usage, and machine conditions.
Perform routine machine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment in accordance with 5S and safety requirements.
Support continuous improvement activities to improve machining efficiency, productivity, quality, and reduce material/tool wastage.
Perform other duties and projects assigned by the supervisor or manager.
Diploma/Certificate in Machining, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, or a related field.
2–5 years of experience in CNC milling or precision machining is preferred.
Experience operating 3-axis/4-axis/5-axis CNC milling machines will be an advantage.
Able to read and interpret mechanical/engineering drawings and GD&T.
Familiar with CNC programming and machining codes such as G-code and M-code.
Knowledge of cutting tools, workholding, machining parameters, and different material types.
Familiar with precision measuring instruments and inspection methods.
Experience with Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Siemens, or similar CNC controls is an advantage.
Knowledge of CAM software such as Mastercam, SolidCAM, or equivalent is an added advantage.
Able to troubleshoot machining and dimensional issues independently.
Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Able to work independently as well as in a team.
Willing to work overtime or shifts when required.
