Job summary

GC PACKAGING SDN BHD, established recently and operating in Malaysia, is seeking a CNC Machinist to operate CNC machines and produce precision components per engineering drawings and quality standards.

You will set up machines, load CNC programs, select tooling and parameters, and perform inspections with calipers, micrometers and gauges. The role requires independent work, team collaboration, and overtime when needed.

Qualifications

• Certificate or diploma in machining, mechanical engineering, manufacturing or related field.
• Previous CNC machinist experience preferred.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of CNC processes, tooling and measuring equipment.
• Basic knowledge of G-code/M-code and CNC programming is an advantage.
• Good understanding of tolerances, GD&T and precision measurement.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Set up CNC machines, including tooling, work holding, offsets, and workpieces.
• Load and modify CNC programs as required.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining parameters.
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and gauges.
• Ensure machined components meet specified dimensions and quality requirements.
• Identify and troubleshoot machining, tooling, and machine-related problems.
• Follow company procedures, safety requirements, and quality control standards.
• Minimize material waste, machine downtime, and production defects.
• Work closely with senior engineer, and quality personnel to meet production targets.
• Follow safety protocols and report hazards or malfunctions.
• Perform manual micro drilling and milling operation based on drawings and specifications.
• Perform deburring, buffing and polishing of machined/tooling parts.
• Fabricate manual epoxy moulds when required.

Certificate, Diploma, or relevant technical qualification inMachining, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.

Previous experience as a CNC Machinist is preferred.

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.

Knowledge of CNC machining processes, tooling, and measuring equipment.

Basic knowledge ofG-code/M-code and CNC programmingis an advantage.

Good understanding of tolerances, GD&T, and precision measurement.

Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Willing to work shifts and overtime when required.

Strong commitment to safety and product quality.
