Job summary

Pullman Morrison Pte Ltd is building a pioneer technology team in Malaysia and seeks a Cloud Architect to lead secure, scalable cloud infrastructure for fintech platforms. You will design landing zones, implement IaC with Terraform/CloudFormation, and integrate CI/CD pipelines to automate provisioning.

You will work across English- and Mandarin-speaking regional stakeholders, ensuring high availability and security while optimizing costs in a dynamic fintech environment.

Qualifications

• Strong fintech/digital payments or financial services tech context preferred.
• Hands-on design and management of cloud landing zones and production-grade environments.
• Proficient in Terraform, CloudFormation or equivalent IaC technologies.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Proficient in English and Mandarin for cross-border collaboration.

Job description

We are currently assisting a high-growth fintech and digital payments company in establishing its pioneer technology team in Malaysia.

As part of this expansion, we are looking for an experienced Cloud Architect with strong cloud infrastructure expertise and exposure to the fintech, digital payments or financial technology ecosystem.

This is an opportunity to join an early-stage Malaysia team while working within a regional technology environment supporting business-critical financial platforms.

Key Requirements

• Fintech, Digital Payments, Banking Technology, Financial Services Technology or related transaction-based platforms
• Strong architecture experience across public cloud environments
• Professional cloud architecture certification in AWS, Alibaba Cloud or Oracle Cloud (OCI)
• Strong hands-off knowledge of Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD and cloud-native architecture
• Experience designing secure, scalable and highly available production infrastructure
• Strong communication skills in English and Chinese for regional and cross-border stakeholder collaboration

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, design, build and manage secure and scalable cloud environments across public cloud platforms.
• Design cloud architecture covering networking, compute, storage, security and shared platform services.
• Architect and manage cloud landing zones and multi-tier application environments.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation and Ansible.
• Integrate IaC with CI/CD pipelines to enable automated infrastructure provisioning and minimise manual intervention.
• Design and support containerised environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Build highly available and resilient infrastructure capable of supporting business-critical financial applications.
• Monitor and optimise infrastructure performance, scalability, reliability and cloud costs.
• Work closely with Engineering, Security and Technology Operations teams to align infrastructure architecture with application and business requirements.
• Support incident management, root-cause analysis, disaster recovery and infrastructure resilience.
• Ensure cloud environments adhere to relevant security, governance and compliance standards.
• Continuously evaluate new cloud technologies and identify opportunities to improve automation, reliability and operational efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications

• Cloud Architecture, Cloud Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, DevOps Infrastructure or a related field.
• Strong experience with at least one major public cloud platform, ideally AWS, Oracle Cloud (OCI) or Alibaba Cloud.
• Hands-on experience designing and managing cloud landing zones and production-grade cloud environments.
• Professional working proficiency in both Mandarin and English is required for cross-border technical discussions and stakeholder collaboration.
• Strong experience with Terraform, CloudFormation or equivalent Infrastructure as Code technologies.
• Experience integrating infrastructure automation with CI/CD pipelines, ideally GitLab or similar platforms.
• Strong knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration.
• Experience supporting highly available, scalable and business-critical production environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilities.
• Experience working within fintech, digital payments, banking technology or financial services environments.
