Qualifications

Our client is a well known leading IT provider in Malaysia and currently looking for a Senior Executive, Cloud Engineerin Department IT - Technology, Cloud & Governance. This role reports toSeniorManager, Cloud & DevOps Engineering.

We are seeking a CloudInfrastructure Engineer to support the day-to-day operations andcontinuous improvement of our cloud and infrastructure platforms . Thesuccessful candidate will help ensure the reliability, availability, andsecurity of cloud and on-premises environments through effective monitoring,operational support, automation, and adherence to established technologystandards.

The role requires hands-onexperience with core infrastructure technologies, including Windows and Linuxservers, enterprise networking, storage platforms, and database technologies. Familiaritywith AWS cloud services across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models, together with agood understanding of cloud security, operational best practices, andinfrastructure resilience, will be advantageous. Experience supportingregulated environments or financial institutions is an added advantage.

The successful candidate willalso contribute to technical documentation, operational procedures, projectimplementation, and knowledge-sharing activities while working closely withinternal teams and technology partners to support business and operationalobjectives.

Key Responsibilities

• S upport the operation and maintenance of cloud and infrastructureservices, with a primary focus on AWS environments, including core servicessuch as compute, storage, networking, and database platforms, alongside hybridon-premises integration.
• Operate and troubleshoot cloud workloads across AWS and otherhyperscale platforms (e.g. Azure, GCP, Alibaba Cloud) with emphasis onavailability, performance, and stability of production systems.
• Support implementation of monitoring and observability solutionsin AWS environments using tools such as Amazon CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana,and Datadog to ensure operational visibility and proactive issue detection.
• Assist in implementing and validating backup and recoverymechanisms within AWS (e.g. AWS Backup, snapshot strategies), includingperiodic restore testing and retention compliance.
• Support disaster recovery and high availability configurations onAWS (e.g. Multi-AZ, Multi-Region setups, load balancing) to meet businesscontinuity requirements.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraformand AWS CloudFormation to support standardized and repeatable cloud resourceprovisioning.
• Participate in 24x7 production support and incident response forAWS-based workloads, ensuring timely resolution in line with operational SLAs.
• Support implementation of cloud security, governance, andcompliance controls within AWS environments, aligned with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain operational documentation including runbooks,architecture notes, and incident post-mortems to support knowledge retentionand operational readiness.
• Contribute to cloud optimization initiatives within AWS, includingauto-scaling, cost efficiency, load balancing, and performance tuning underguidance from senior engineers.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of AWS cloud architecture principlesand service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), supporting secure and scalable cloudoperations in production environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree,Postgraduate Diploma, Professional Qualification, or equivalent experience inComputer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a relateddiscipline.
• Relevant cloudcertifications (e.g., AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, AWS CertifiedSolutions Architect, Alibaba Cloud Certified Associate, or equivalent) will bean added advantage.
• Professionalcertifications in infrastructure and platform technologies, including backupand disaster recovery solutions, Windows Server, Linux, virtualization,networking, or other relevant technologies, will be an added advantage.
• 6+ years of experience in infrastructure operations across data centersand cloud environments.
• 6+ years of experiencein cloud engineering and operations, with a strong focus on cloud environments.
• Experience working inthe financial industry is a plus.
• Strong understanding ofinfrastructure and network operations across both data centre and cloudenvironments, including Windows and Linux systems, directory services (LDAP),DNS, DHCP, CDN, load balancing, clustering, email gateways, IPVPN, SFTP, andrelated enterprise services, with experience supporting 24x7 productionoperations.
