Job summary

BID Operations in Malaysia seeks a proactive Client Settlements Reconciliation Specialist for accurate daily settlement processing and client money oversight. You will reconcile across PSPs and the general ledger, and support payment processing and regulatory requests.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance with 2+ years in financial services, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with Xero. English communication is essential; Mandarin is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in financial services, preferably brokerage, fintech, payments, or fund administration.
• Understanding of client money and client fund accounting, including fund segregation and client equity.
• Hands-on experience with daily/monthly balance reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
• Strong Excel skills (lookup, pivot tables, reconciliation workbooks) for large datasets.
• Familiarity with GL principles; Xero experience is advantageous.
• Good English communication; Mandarin is a plus.
• Experience with PSP settlement and reconciliation preferred.
• Familiarity with CRM/reporting tools (Power BI, SQL, Python) is a plus.
• Knowledge of client money regulatory requirements (ASIC/FCA) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily settlement reports (funds in/out, client equity, PSP balance reports) and distribute on time.
• Perform day-end balance checks across PSPs and reconcile to PSP statements and GL.
• Conduct monthly PSP balance reconciliation and investigate breaks until resolved.
• Support client money calculations and ensure funds are segregated from company funds.
• Record and maintain settlement entries in the accounting system (Xero).
• Coordinate with Finance, Payments, Compliance and PSP contacts to resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain reconciliation workpapers and SOPs; suggest automation improvements.
• Support internal/external audits and regulatory requests related to client money.
