OSL is seeking a proactive Trading Operations Specialist to own the end-to-end post-trade settlement cycle and manage day-to-day middle office operations. This shift-based role is foundational for our trading desks and requires deep knowledge of trade flows and settlement processes.

You will mitigate risk, manage complex counterparty relationships, and push for operational precision across global markets, with English and Mandarin fluency mandatory.

Qualifications

• 2–8 years in middle-office or trade support within a financial institution, trading firm, or brokerage.
• Comprehensive grasp of end-to-end trade flows, processing systems and international settlement cycles.
• Ability to maintain extreme accuracy and clear thinking under tight market cutoff times.

Responsibilities

• Post-Trade Clearance & Settlement: oversee daily matching, allocation, clearing and settlement of institutional trades; align internal records with clearing entities.
• Middle Office Operations: run daily lifecycles, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting; defend against operational risk.
• Break & Exception Management: identify and resolve breaks, alerts, and failures with traders, brokers and custodians.
• Cross-Border Coordination: interface with global counterparties and clearers; manage shift handovers for 24-hour continuity.
• Workflow Optimization: analyze processes to reduce inefficiencies and refine SOPs.

This is a dynamic, shift-based position built for a collaborative team player who possesses a deep understanding of trade flows and institutional settlement. You will be tasked with mitigating risk, managing complex counterparty relationships, and driving absolute operational precision.

Key Responsibilities

• Post-Trade Clearance & Settlement Oversee the daily matching, allocation, clearing, and settlement of institutional trades across global markets, ensuring total alignment between internal records and external clearing entities.
• Middle Office Operations Execute daily transaction lifecycles, lifecycle events, cash/position reconciliations, and regulatory reporting, acting as the primary line of defense against operational and settlement risk.
• Break & Exception Management Identify, investigate, and resolve trade breaks, discrepancy alerts, and settlement failures by collaborating with traders, brokers, and custodian banks.
• Cross-Border Coordination Interface with global counterparties, brokers, and clearers; manage shift-specific market handovers seamlessly to maintain 24-hour operational continuity.
• Workflow Optimization Proactively analyze trade processing workflows to identify inefficiencies, automate manual steps, and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs).

What We Are Looking For

• Proven FI Background 2 to 8 years of solid middle-office or trade support experience within a Financial Institution, trading firm, or brokerage.
• Technical Settlement Expertise A comprehensive grasp of end-to-end trade flows, processing systems, and international settlement cycles.
• Thrives Under Pressure Proven ability to maintain extreme attention to detail, accuracy, and clear thinking while operating in a fast-paced environment with tight market cutoff times.
• Adaptable & Shift-Ready Flexibility to work on varying shift patterns to support active trading hours across different regional time zones.
• Bilingual Capability Full professional proficiency in English and Mandarin is mandatory to communicate with global and regional counterparties; ability to speak Cantonese is highly advantageous.
