Job summary

Cayman First is seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Underwriter for the Personal Lines team in Malaysia. You will support the Property & Casualty department, handling personal lines policies including auto and home coverage, and deliver exceptional service to clients.

You will assist with policy issuance, renewals, documentation accuracy, and client communications while collaborating with underwriting to ensure compliant, smooth processes.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher; insurance coursework or certifications preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of customer-facing experience in insurance.
• Strong knowledge of personal lines coverage.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and customer management software.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service by greeting walk-in clients, handling calls and emails about personal lines policies.
• Support policy issuance and renewals by assisting in preparation, processing and delivery of new policies and renewals.
• Review policy documentation for accuracy and regulatory compliance before issuance.
• Provide guidance on coverage options, billing inquiries, renewals, endorsements, and other service questions.
• Process policy changes, including adding/removing coverage and updating information.
• Translate complex insurance terms into clear explanations for clients.
