Qualifications

• Two years of relevant work experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Review customs documentation including invoices, packing lists and permits.
• Communicate with customers, freight forwarders and government agencies to gather information.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies to facilitate customs clearance and resolve issues.
• Stay updated on changes in customs regulations, trade agreements, and tariff structures.
• Ensure accurate submission of customs declarations and proper documentation.
• Collaborate with operations, customer service and sales to ensure smooth clearance processes.
• Provide exceptional customer service and address inquiries to ensure satisfaction.

Clearance Agent

• Review customs documentation, including invoices, bills of lading, packing lists, and import/export permits
• Communicate and collaborate with customers, freight forwarders, and government agencies to gather necessary information, resolve inquiries, and address customs-related issues.
• Liaise with all regulatory bodies to facilitate the customs clearance process and resolve any issues that may arise.
• Stay up-to-date with changes in customs regulations, trade agreements, and tariff structures to ensure compliance and provide accurate advice to customers.
• Ensure accurate and timely submission of customs declarations and maintain proper documentation in compliance with oraganization policies and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including operations, customer service, and sales teams, to ensure smooth and timely customs clearance processes.
• Provide exceptional customer service by proactively addressing customer inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Job Requirements

• Secondary education or equivalent.
• Relevant work experience of at least two (2) years is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of customs regulations, procedures and trade compliance is preferred but not required.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office & PC.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Proven expertise in planning & organizing, with a strong accuracy & attention to detail.
