Job summary

NORTH CONSULT ENGINEERING SDN. BHD. in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Civil & Structural Drafter to support our engineering team in preparing and coordinating civil and structural drawings for diverse projects.

You will work closely with engineers and other disciplines to ensure drawings are accurate, coordinated and delivered on schedule, with strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Drafting, or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of relevant civil and structural drafting experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Prepare civil and structural drawings using AutoCAD, including plans, sections, elevations, and construction details.
• Produce reinforced concrete and structural steel drawings covering foundations, columns, beams, slabs, and connections based on engineers' designs.
• Prepare civil works drawings for earthworks, roads, drainage, and other infrastructure as required.
• Revise drawings based on engineers' markups, design changes, and project requirements.
• Coordinate drawings with architectural, mechanical, electrical, and other disciplines, and highlight discrepancies for resolution.
• Check dimensions, levels, annotations, and drawing references for accuracy and consistency.
• Maintain drawing registers, revision histories, and organised project records.
• Prepare submission, tender, construction, and as-built drawings under the direction of the project engineer.
• Support site teams with drawing clarifications and attend coordination meetings or site visits when required.

About the role:

We are looking for a Civil & Structural Drafter to support our engineering team in preparing and coordinating civil and structural drawings for various projects. The successful candidate will work closely with engineers and other project disciplines to ensure drawings are accurate, coordinated and delivered according to project requirements

Key responsibilities :

Prepare civil and structural drawings using AutoCAD, including plans, sections, elevations, and construction details.

Produce reinforced concrete and structural steel drawings covering foundations, columns, beams, slabs, and connections based on engineers' designs.

Prepare civil works drawings for earthworks, roads, drainage, and other infrastructure as required.

Requirements :

Certificate or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Drafting, or a related discipline.

3–5 years of relevant civil and structural drafting experience.

Proficiency in AutoCAD.

Ability to interpret engineering sketches, design information, and technical specifications.

Good understanding of reinforced concrete detailing, structural steelwork, and construction practices.

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple drawing assignments.

Good communication skills and ability to work independently with guidance from engineers.

Knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM) workflows and software such as Autodesk Civil 3D, Revit, or similar tools is a bonus but is not mandatory.
