Job summary

CHOCOFAC (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. is seeking a Purchasing cum Product Development professional to drive new product concepts from idea generation to commercial launch. You will identify opportunities, develop concepts, source ingredients and packaging, prepare costs, and coordinate trials with QA/QC.

The role emphasizes ownership of projects, diligent follow-ups, and cross-department collaboration with Production, Finance, and Sales to ensure successful launches and cost optimization.

Qualifications

• .Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Food Technology, Food Science, Marketing, or a related field.
• .Experience in purchasing, procurement, food manufacturing, R&D, or product development is an advantage.
• .Strong interest in food/chocolate product development and purchasing.
• .Creative and able to generate new product ideas.
• .Good communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• .Good numerical and analytical skills for costing and quotation comparison.
• .Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• .Organised and detail-oriented.
• .Strong follow-up and coordination skills.
• .Able to communicate with local and overseas suppliers.
• .Able to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• .Proactive, responsible, and able to take ownership of assigned projects.

Responsibilities

• Proactively come up with new product ideas and concepts based on market trends and company direction.
• Identify and source new chocolate confectionery, packaging, and related food product opportunities.
• Prepare product concepts, mock-ups, and visual concepts for management review.
• Coordinate product trials with Production and QA/QC, recording results and improvements.
• Follow up on all development projects from concept to launch.
• Identify and source suitable raw materials and packaging materials, request samples, and obtain quotations.
• Coordinate with suppliers on lead times, MOQs, and costs; maintain supplier database.
• Maintain Product Development Tracker with status, actions, and deadlines.
