Job summary

KJ Advanced Investment Bank (KAIB) is seeking a strategic and hands-on Chief Operating Officer to build the bank's operational foundation in Labuan, Malaysia. The role includes setting up core infrastructure, governance, LOA controls, and ensuring readiness for regulated operations.

You will lead operations across the bank, establish brokerage and trading infrastructure, engage with regulators, and implement risk management with integrity.

Qualifications

• 10-15 years of experience in financial services, including at least 5 years in banking or investment banking.
• Proven leadership experience within regulated financial institutions.
• Experience managing operations, trading support, or investment-related functions.
• Strong knowledge of governance frameworks, internal controls, and risk management.
• Familiarity with Labuan regulatory requirements is an advantage.
• High integrity with the ability to meet Fit and Proper criteria.

This role is instrumental in building the bank's operational foundation, with responsibility for setting up core infrastructure, governance frameworks, and ensuring operational readiness.

Key responsibilities

Lead the development and implementation of operational functions across the bank

Establish brokerage, trading infrastructure, liquidity, financing, and investment operations

Design and implement governance frameworks, including internal controls, LOA, and BCP

Ensure operational readiness in line with Labuan FSA regulatory requirements

Support engagement with regulators in relation to operational setup and approvals

About you
