Billion Onsen Spa Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled Cook/Chef de Partie to prepare and present high-quality Chinese dishes in a wellness hospitality setting. You will manage a kitchen section, uphold food safety standards, and collaborate with the Chef and General Manager on menu development to meet the brand’s wellness-focused recipes.
The role requires 2–3 years of kitchen experience, familiarity with Chinese cuisine, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes according to the company's recipes and standards.
Manage and oversee the assigned kitchen section to ensure smooth daily operations.
Ensure food is prepared and served in a timely manner while maintaining consistency in quality and presentation.
Monitor food quality, portion control, and minimize food wastage.
Assist the Chef and General Manager in menu preparation, recipe development, and seasonal menu planning.
Ensure ingredients are properly stored, labelled, and rotated according to food safety standards (FIFO).
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, equipment, and workstations at all times.
Comply with food safety, HACCP, and health & safety regulations.
Monitor stock levels and report inventory shortages to the Sous Chef or Head Chef.
Assist with receiving and inspecting food deliveries to ensure quality and freshness.
Train, guide, and support Commis Chefs and kitchen assistants when required.
Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service during peak operating hours.
Ensure all kitchen equipment is used safely and report any maintenance issues promptly.
Support other kitchen sections whenever required to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by Management from time to time.
Job Requirements
Minimum 2–3 years of relevant kitchen experience, preferably as a Chef de Partie or equivalent position in a Chinese restaurant, hotel, or wellness hospitality environment.
Experience in Chinese cuisine is an advantage.
Strong knowledge of Chinese cooking techniques and food preparation.
Experience preparing healthy or wellness-inspired cuisine is an added advantage.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high food quality.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Responsible, disciplined, and passionate about cooking.
Knowledge of food hygiene, HACCP, and kitchen safety standards.
Willing to work on weekends, public holidays, and rotating shifts.
Able to perform the duties of the role, including standing for extended periods and handling routine kitchen tasks.
