Job summary

Ambition is seeking a senior finance leader to own IPO readiness for a Bursa Malaysia listing within 24-36 months. You will lead the end-to-end IPO workplan, oversee governance to public-company standards, and develop the equity story with the Board and advisers.

Job description

Are you a senior finance leader with hands-on IPO experience ready to take on this challenge again? Our client, a technology SME, is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to own this transformational mandate on a permanent basis. With a target Bursa Malaysia listing within 24-36 months, this is a role that demands technical depth, strong corporate governance, and sharp strategic finance acumen.

You'll serve as the primary internal owner of the IPO process, partnering with the Board, PE, and external advisers. Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the end-to-end IPO workplan - timeline, workstream coordination, adviser management, and prospectus preparation, etc.
• Professionalising financial reporting, controls, and governance to public-company and MFRS standards.
• Developing the equity story, financial narrative, and profit forecast in collaboration with advisers and the Board.
• Managing capital structure, treasury, banking relationships, tax structuring, and use-of-proceeds planning.
• Building the finance team and Investor Relations function to public-company standard.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Professional accounting qualification (CA/ICAEW/ACCA/CPA Australia or equivalent) with MIA membership; a CFA or MBA is an advantage
• 10-15+ years of progressive finance leadership, including 3-5 years at CFO, Deputy CFO, or Head of Finance level.
• Proven IPO experience - ideally on Bursa Malaysia - or prior CFO/finance leadership in a public listed company.
• Prior Big 4 audit training is strongly preferred, alongside deep knowledge of MFRS/IFRS and Bursa Listing Requirements.
• Resilience, integrity, and comfort operating under the pressure and compressed timelines of an IPO environment.
