Job summary

Guocera Sdn Bhd is seeking a Laboratory Technician to handle R&D project testing, material evaluation, and XRF analysis with sample prep for diverse materials. You will maintain lab facilities, complete urgent tasks accurately, and uphold 5S practices.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in the ceramic tile industry, strong discipline, and proactive work ethic, with good Excel/Word skills and teamwork mindset.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant working experience in the ceramic tile manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities

• To carry out R&D project testing, trouble-shooting tests, and material evaluation.
• To complete urgent assignments without mistakes within given time frame.
• To be responsible in proper upkeep of Laboratory facilities and equipment.
• Responsible in carrying out the chemical analysis by XRF, including sample preparation for various materials submitted by both internal and external customers.
• Carry out tests such as specific gravity, LOI and fired coefficient of expansion.
• Basic knowledge in using Microsoft office tools such as Excel & Words.
• Engage 5S activities and involve in contribution towards Kaizen actively.
• To co-operate and work as a team member with all levels of staff.
• Involve in 5S activities as team.
• Good technical knowledge of the ceramic industry, particularly in raw materials and body formulation development.
• Independent, proactive, responsible and hardworking.
• Good discipline with the ability to stay focused and deliver work on time.
• Positive attitude towards work and able to adapt to changes.
