Job summary

Gate is building a dedicated Card team to own and scale global card programs end-to-end. This founding-member role focuses on partnering with issuers, processors, and networks to launch and grow card programs worldwide.

The role requires deep card payments experience, strong negotiations, and Mandarin and English proficiency, with fully remote work available.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in card, payments, or fintech with direct issuer or FI experience.
• You've owned a card program from ideation to post-launch.
• Strong grasp of the card payment ecosystem: schemes, processor relationships, BIN sponsorship, regulatory needs.
• Background in bank-issued card programs, fintech/neobank card issuance, or digital asset-linked cards.
• Natural project owner who can run a cross-functional squad and drive execution with little guidance.
• Excellent communicator and negotiator; comfortable in boardroom and detail-oriented settings.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin.

Gate is one of the world's top-ranked cryptocurrency exchanges, serving tens of millions of users globally. As we scale our financial product suite, we've established a dedicated Card team - purpose-built to own and grow Gate's global card programs end-to-end. We're now hiring Business Development & Operations professionals to help lead that charge.

Why This Role Exists

Card at Gate just became its own independent team — and that means these are founding-member seats. The mandate is clear: build and scale a global card issuance business from the ground up. That means finding the right partners, negotiating the right deals, and managing every stage of the launch lifecycle until programs are live, performing, and growing.

What You'll Own

• Define and execute the business strategy for new card launches globally - identifying, vetting, and securing the right card issuers and BIN sponsors by region
• Own commercial negotiations with issuers, processors, and card networks - assessing technical, product, and regulatory fit end-to-end
• Act as program owner across the full launch lifecycle: from market scoping and partner onboarding through to go-live and post-launch optimization
• Coordinate cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Compliance, Legal, and Operations to keep launches on track
• Manage and deepen ongoing relationships with key ecosystem partners - card issuers, processors, BIN sponsors, and card schemes
• Monitor card program KPIs and lead regular partner performance reviews to drive cost efficiency and continuous improvement
• Pitch to and partner with large-scale global merchants to build out exclusive cardholder benefits and lifestyle offers

Who We're Looking For

• 3+ years in card, payments, or fintech - with direct experience working with card issuers or financial institutions
• You've owned a card program from ideation to post-launch. This is non-negotiable.
• Strong grasp of the card payment ecosystem: scheme rules, processor relationships, BIN sponsorship structures, and regional regulatory requirements
• Background in bank-issued card programs, fintech/neobank card issuance, or digital asset-linked card programs - all relevant
• A natural project owner - you can run a cross-functional squad, manage ambiguity, and drive execution without being told what to do next
• Exceptional communicator and negotiator, equally comfortable in the boardroom and in the details
• Fluent in English and Mandarin (both required)
