Job summary

Atome is looking for a Data Center Engineer to join our Penang team. In this full-time role, you will provide technical support, guide clients in managing data center services, and ensure our systems remain reliable and secure. The ideal candidate will have a Diploma or Degree in IT or Computer Science, alongside expertise in Windows and Linux operating systems. Our data center is the backbone of everything we do — and we are looking for a Data Center Engineer to help ensure our systems remain reliable, secure, and high-performing.

If you love getting hands‑on with real tech, solving tough problems, and keeping mission‑critical infrastructure running — this is your role.

What You'll Do:

• Technical Support: Provide hands‑on support at our Penang data center, ensuring critical systems run smoothly for enterprise clients
• Expert Technical Consulting: Guide clients on Exabytes’ colocation, managed hosting, and data center services to help them find the right infrastructure fit.
• Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve issues across Windows and Linux hosting environments, including backup systems such as Acronis, Veeam, and R1Soft.
• Infrastructure Monitoring: Continuously monitor and optimise server performance to ensure stability and efficiency.
• Preventive Maintenance: Carry out scheduled weekly and monthly checks on systems and infrastructure to maintain security, stability, and peak performance.

What We're Looking For:

• Educational Background: Diploma/ Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Hardware Knowledge: Deep expertise in the physical core—CPUs, storage arrays, and high-performance RAM.
• Operating Systems: Solid knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Cloud Connoisseur: Passion for the intangible—mastering cloud architecture and virtual ecosystems.
• Networking Fundamentals: Basic understanding of networking concepts such as IP addressing, domains, and DNS.
