Job summary

AZTI Systems Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled Draftsman to prepare detailed construction, shop, fabrication, and as-built drawings based on project requirements in Malaysia. You will read architectural, structural, M&E drawings and specifications, and translate them into precise CAD drawings.

You will coordinate with the Construction Manager, project team, engineers, and subcontractors, ensuring drawings reflect approved designs and site conditions, and maintain thorough document control.

Qualifications

• Proficient in AutoCAD 2D/3D and Adobe PDF.
• Ability to read and prepare technical, shop and as-built drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with good drawing revision and document control.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills; able to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with electrical/ELV/railway drawings is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed construction drawings, shop drawings, fabrication drawings, layouts, and as-built drawings based on project requirements.
• Interpret architectural, structural, M&E, engineering drawings, specifications, and project documents.
• Coordinate drawings with the Construction Manager, Project Manager, engineers, site supervisors, subcontractors, and consultants.
• Ensure drawings are accurate, complete, and in accordance with approved designs and project specs.
• Incorporate approved design changes, site instructions, RFI responses, and consultant/client comments into drawings.
• Assist the construction team in resolving drawing discrepancies and technical issues on site.
• Conduct site measurements and verify actual conditions to reflect construction requirements.
• Prepare and maintain updated as-built drawings based on site installation and approved changes.
• Assist in preparing drawings for submission, approval, construction, fabrication, and site installation.
• Maintain drawing registers, revision records, and filing of all drawings.
• Ensure only the latest approved drawings are issued to the site team.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers on drawings and fabrication details.

Job description

Prepare detailed construction drawings, shop drawings, fabrication drawings, layouts, and as-built drawings based on project requirements.

Interpret architectural, structural, M&E, engineering drawings, specifications, and project documents.

Prepare and revise drawings using AutoCAD and other relevant drafting software.

Coordinate drawings with the Construction Manager, Project Manager, engineers, site supervisors, subcontractors, and consultants.

Ensure drawings are accurate, complete, and in accordance with approved designs, project specifications, and relevant construction standards.

Incorporate approved design changes, site instructions, RFI responses, and consultant/client comments into drawings.

Assist the construction team in resolving drawing discrepancies, clashes, and technical issues encountered on site.

Conduct site measurements and verify actual site conditions to ensure drawings accurately reflect construction requirements.

Prepare and maintain updated as-built drawings based on actual site installation and approved changes.

Assist in preparing drawings for submission, approval, construction, fabrication, and site installation.

Maintain proper drawing registers, revision records, document control, and filing of all drawings.

Ensure only the latest approved drawings are issued and used by the construction/site team.

Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers on drawings, fabrication details, and technical drawings where required.

Assist with quantity take-offs, material schedules, and other technical documentation when necessary.

Ensure all drafting works are completed accurately and within project deadlines.

Provide drafting and technical documentation support to the Construction Manager and project team as required.

Desired Skills:

Proficient in AutoCAD 2D/3D and Adobe PDF.

Able to read and prepare technical, shop & as-built drawings.

Good understanding of engineering and construction drawings.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Good knowledge of drawing revision & document control.

Good coordination and communication skills.

Able to work independently and meet project deadlines.

Familiar with electrical/ELV/railway drawings is an advantage.

Knowledge of Revit/BIM and Microsoft Office is an added advantage.
