Job summary

NGAI CHIN CONSTRUCTION SDN. BHD. is seeking a CAD Drafter to prepare and update 2D drawings and 3D SketchUp models for construction projects. You will produce detailed layouts, elevations and sections, revising drawings per feedback while ensuring accuracy and compliance with specifications.

The role requires 2–3 years of drafting experience, proficiency in AutoCAD, and the ability to read architectural drawings. Travel to Singapore for training or meetings may be required.

Qualifications

Job description

This role involves preparing and updating 2D CAD drawings and 3D SketchUp models, along with detailed drawings, layouts, plans, elevations and sections for construction works. You will revise drawings according to feedback from Project Managers, QS, designers, consultants and clients, and ensure all drawings are accurate, clear and comply with project specifications and requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and update 2D CAD drawings and 3D SketchUp models.

Prepare detailed drawings, layouts, plans, elevations and sections for construction works.

Revise drawings according to comments from Project Managers, QS, designers, consultants and clients.

Ensure drawings are accurate, clear and comply with project specifications and requirements.

Coordinate drawings with the project team and other relevant disciplines.

Assist in preparing shop drawings, as-built drawings and submission drawings.

Maintain proper drawing records, revisions and document control.

Review drawings and identify discrepancies or inconsistencies before submission.

Liaise with site teams to clarify drawing details and incorporate site changes where required.

Requirements

Diploma or Certificate in Architecture, Building, Civil Engineering, Interior Design, Drafting or a related field.

Minimum 2 to 3 years of relevant CAD drafting experience, preferably in the construction, interior design or A&A industry.

Proficient in AutoCAD and able to produce accurate technical drawings.

Knowledge of construction drawings, detailing and basic construction methods.

Experience in preparing shop drawings and as-built drawings is an advantage.

Able to read and understand architectural and technical drawings.

Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.

Good attention to detail and accuracy.

Good communication and coordination skills.

Able to work independently and meet project deadlines.

Willing to coordinate with the Singapore project team and support project requirements when necessary.

Able to travel to SG for training/meeting when necessary.
