Job summary

Adnex Interior Solution Sdn Bhd is seeking a CAD Designer to turn interior design concepts into technical drawings for commercial fit-outs, with on-site support and cross-functional collaboration.

The role requires a Diploma or Bachelor’s in Architecture or Interior Design, 5+ years in interior fit-out drafting, and expertise in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and MS Office; familiarity with CIDB, BOMBA, MBPJ, DBKL is a plus.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience specializing in interior fit-out drafting, joinery detailing, or commercial/retail renovation projects.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD as the primary tool for complex construction and joinery drafting. Competency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and MS Office / SharePoint / Teams for documentation and presentation support.
• Familiarity with local Malaysian authority regulations and submission guidelines (CIDB, BOMBA, MBPJ, DBKL, etc.).
• High attention to technical accuracy, strong problem-solving skills for site issues, and the ability to communicate smoothly across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Possess own transport.

CAD Designer (Interior Design – Commercial Fit out)

About the roleAdnex Interior Solution is seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and experienced CAD Designer to join our dynamic team. If you excel at turning design concepts into technical realities, managing on-site execution, and collaborating with cross-functional teams, we want to hear from you!

What you'll be doing

1. Drafting, Technical Documentation & Deliverables

Prepare and review comprehensive drawing packages for all project stages—including tender, shop, construction, and as-built drawings for client/consultant approval and site execution.

Produce space planning layouts, demolition plans, setting-out plans, reflected ceiling plans (RCP), flooring patterns, lighting layouts, MEP integration, joinery/millwork details, furniture layouts, and material layout drawings.

Ensure all drawings are accurate, constructible, and fully compliant with project specifications, design intent, company guidelines, and local authority regulations (CIDB, BOMBA, MBPJ, DBKL, etc.).

Update drawings promptly based on Variation Orders (VOs), site conditions, client/consultant feedback, and coordination meetings.

Maintain systematic drawing registers, revision history logs, and file naming conventions. Track submission packages to ensure timely approvals.

2. Design Support & Development

Assist in preparing space planning layouts, mood boards, and design presentations for client discussions.

Support material selection, finishes, and furniture specifications, including direct sourcing from suppliers.

Work under the guidance of senior designers/Design Managers to take on wider creative and technical ownership in future projects.

3. Coordination & Site Support

Collaborate closely with commercial, design, and site teams to align drawings with the Bill of Quantities (BOQ), cost controls, and construction feasibility.

Coordinate technical drawings and integrate design requirements with internal teams, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and specialist contractors (Architectural, Structural, MEP).

Conduct site measurements, verify dimensions prior to production, and provide the site team with immediate drawing clarifications and construction details.

Attend site and design coordination meetings to ensure the design intent is accurately translated into site execution.

4. Project Close-Out & Handover

Prepare final as-built drawings and compile the Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Manual.

Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to collect required technical datasheets, warranties, manuals, and other close-out documentation for the project handover stage.
