Job summary

SMT Technologies Sdn Bhd is seeking a Materials/Procurement professional to manage supplier relations, plan material flow, and optimize inventory for a multi-sector EMS operation in Kedah. The role focuses on reducing obsolescence, coordinating ECN activities, and ensuring timely payment documentation.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Material Management, ME or EE is preferred.
• Strong analytical and detail orientation with a proactive mindset.
• Proficient communication in Mandarin and English, good MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Issue purchase orders to suppliers per lead time after refresh of material plan.
• Coordinate inbound materials with pull-in/push-out demand to optimize inventory.
• Mitigate risk of excess/obsolescence via ECN and supplier liaising.
• Ensure POD and document submission to Finance for timely payment.
• Provide quick-turn solutions with or without PPV to meet short lead times.
• Optimize material cost by consolidating shipments and selecting modes.
• Work cross-functionally with suppliers and internal teams until issues are resolved.
• Assist in vendor evaluation, selection and approval processes.
• Provide informative reports for management review.

Responsibilities

• Issue PO to supplieras per ASL andaccording to part lead time after material plan beingrefreshed.
• Regulatein-comingmaterials inclusiveofpull in and push outdemandqty in tandem with customer’slatestschedule so as tooptimize inventory level.
• Act on customer’sECNtomitigaterisk ofexcess andobsolescence to minimum.
• Liaisewith Supplier for incoming defective partdisposition.Familiar with RMA process.
• Ensure POD process is doneand all relevant documents aresubmitted to Finance timely for payment purpose.
• Providequick turn solutionswith orwithout PPVto fulfillcustomershort lead timeorder.
• Optimizecost ofbringingmaterialsby consolidating shipment frequency and selectingshipment mode.
• Workcross department andsupplierto resolve allissuesamicably.Thesesinclude adjourd meeting, furnished relevantdata, followupmeeting until issue resolved.
• Assist in the vendor evaluation, selection and approval process.
• To provide informative report for management perusal and decision making.

Requirements

• At least Diploma / Degree in Material Management, ME or EE or equivalent. Able to understandcomponents be it electricalor mechanicalspecification willbeadvantageous.
• Highly analytical & with keen attention to details.
• Good working attitude & mindset. Pro-active & able to complete tasks assigned with minimal supervision.
• Good communication skills both in Mandarin and English. Good command of MS Office. Knowledge of MRP will be an advantageous.
• We are looking for Mandarin-speaking candidates who will be serving Mandarin-speaking customers.
• Ability to work under pressure & meet deadlines.
• Understand Incoterm.
• Basicunderstanding ofLMW.
• Workingexperience inPCBA or boxbuildmanufacturing environmentswill be advantageous.
