Job summary

Ultra Clean Technology is seeking a Buyer II in Malaysia to source, purchase, and expedite materials from approved suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality compliance. The role focuses on cost reduction, supplier performance, and inventory optimization within a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s in Electrical/Mechanical fields (or 5+ years with a Diploma), plus strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in a related engineering field.
• Experience: 2+ years with a Bachelor's degree or 5+ years with a Diploma.
• Knowledge of MRP systems is an advantage.
• Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Manufacturing environment experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, buy, source and expedite materials from local and overseas suppliers.
• Ensure on-time delivery and meet quality requirements.
• Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers.
• Maintain supplier scorecard programs and supplier performance.
• Support inventory optimization, material availability and quality management.

UCT is looking for a talented Buyer II to join us inMalaysia!

The Buyer II is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and expediting materials from approved suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality compliance. This role drives cost reduction initiatives, negotiates commercial terms, and manages supplier performance through scorecards. Working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, the Buyer II contributes to inventory optimization, material availability, and quality assurance, supporting the organization's operational and financial goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for planning, buying, sourcing and expediting materials, commodities from approved vendor lists both locally and overseas
• Ensure on-time delivery of materials from suppliers and meeting quality requirements
• Negotiate pricing, commercial terms with local and overseas suppliers
• Maintain and execute suppliers scorecard programs
• Work towards achieving given objectives such as inventory management, cost reduction, materials availability and quality management
• Other duties as required

Educational/Certification Requirement:

• Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics /Mechatronics/Industrial Systems Engineering

Experience Requirement:

• At least 2 years working experience for Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Mechanical or equivalent
• At least 5 years working experience for Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical or equivalent
• Knowledge of MRP system will be add advantage
• Able to perform in fast paced environment; Preferably experience from an manufacturing environment
• Possess good interpersonal and negotiation skills
