Job summary

UCT is seeking a skilled Buyer IV in Malaysia to lead a sub-team responsible for meeting On Time Delivery and inventory targets. The role emphasizes KPI-driven purchasing, supplier engagement, and data accuracy in the MRP system.

Ideal candidates hold a Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field, with 6–10 years of experience in electrical/mechanical manufacturing environments. Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a buyer sub-team and achieving high On Time Delivery (OTD) in a manufacturing setup.
• Track and improve purchasing KPIs such as Past Due PO, Unconfirm PO, and PPC metrics.
• Ensure data accuracy for LT, AVL, SPQ/MOQ and cost settings in ERP/MRP systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead a sub team of Buyers to achieve 100% supplier On Time Delivery (OTD) and manage inventory goals.
• Drive Purchasing KPI such as Past Due PO, Unconfirm PO, PPC (Pull in, Push out and Cancellation).
• Ensure compliance of purchase data such as LT, AVL, SPQ/MOQ and cost setting in the system.
• Perform, supervise and evaluate sub team purchasing activities to avoid disruption to production plans.
• Manage and improve escalation processes to resolve material shortages promptly.
• Establish and maintain good rapport with suppliers to ensure delivery effectiveness.
• Support and responsiveness to internal customers and stakeholders.
• Risk assessment of material positioning for important/critical parts by customer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• To lead a sub team of Buyers to achieve the key performance – 100% of supplier On Time Delivery (OTD) performance and manage the Inventory goals and target.
• To drive Purchasing KPI such as Past Due PO, Unconfirm PO, PPC (Pull in, Push out and Cancellation
• Ensure the compliance of purchase data such as LT, AVL & SPQ/MOQ and cost setting as required in the system.
• Perform, supervise and evaluate sub team purchasing activities to ensure no disruption of supply to production plan and loading.
• Manage/improve the escalation process to resolve material shortages in timely manner.
• Establish and maintain good rapport with suppliers to ensure the effectiveness in delivery
• Support and responsiveness.
• Risk Assessment of material positioning for important / critical parts by customer

Educational/Certification Requirement:

• Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics /Mechatronics/Industrial Systems Engineering.
• Diploma / Degree in Supply Chain Management or its equivalent

Experience Requirement:

• At least 6 years working experience for bachelor’s degree in electrical / mechanical or equivalent.
• At least 10 years working experience for Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical or equivalent.
• Knowledge of MRP system will be advantageous.
• Able to perform in fast paced environment; Preferably experience from manufacturing environment.
• Possess good interpersonal and negotiation skills.
