Job summary

ASTRODYNE TDI SDN. BHD. in Perai, Penang, invites an experienced Buyer to join our manufacturing operations.

You will oversee end-to-end purchasing, engage with suppliers, and ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services to support production. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years in a Buyer or Purchasing role, strong negotiation and communication skills, and a solid grasp of inventory planning and supplier management.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in a Buyer or Purchasing role, preferable in Manufacturing/Power sectors.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills with internal/external stakeholders.
• Proficiency in inventory management, forecasting, planning and optimization.

Responsibilities

• Identify potential suppliers, conduct market research, and evaluate supplier capabilities.
• Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and develop new vendor partnerships.
• Execute end-to-end purchasing processes, including purchase requisition, sourcing, purchase orders, and invoice processing.
• Ensure compliance with purchasing policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Monitor supplier performance, quality, and delivery timelines to maintain a reliable supply chain.
• Analyze pricing trends and market conditions to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Develop and implement cost reduction strategies while maintaining product/service quality.
• Collaborate with suppliers to address issues, resolve disputes, and ensure consistent delivery of goods and services
• Conduct regular supplier evaluations and performance reviews.
• Review and negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers.
• Ensure contract terms are favorable, and legal and compliance requirements are met.

As a Buyer, you will play a crucial role in our Manufacturing operations, Responsible to oversee and manage the purchasing activities within the company and to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services required by the company and to deliver best in class procurement support of client’s mission through partnership with our customers and a commitment to excellence, innovation, diversity, and integrity.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar Buyer or Purchasing role, preferably in the Manufacturing and Power Industry (added advantages)
• Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen eye for detail
• Proficiency in inventory management, including forecasting, planning, and optimization.
• Familiarity with procurement best practices and experience in implementing efficient processes
• Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
