Job summary

ASTRODYNE TDI SDN. BHD. is seeking an experienced Buyer to join our Perai, Penang team. You will oversee purchasing activities, ensure timely procurement, negotiate terms, and build strong supplier relationships to sustain a cost-effective supply chain.

Responsibilities include end-to-end purchasing, market research, contract negotiation, vendor management, and ongoing supplier performance reviews. A degree in supply chain disciplines and 3+ years relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a Buyer or Purchasing role in manufacturing.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency in forecasting, planning and inventory optimization.

About the role At ASTRODYNE TDI SDN. BHD.', we are seeking an experienced Buyer to join our team in Perai, Penang. As a Buyer, you will play a crucial role in our Manufacturing operations, Responsible to oversee and manage the purchasing activities within the company and to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services required by the company and to deliver best in class procurement support of client’s mission through partnership with our customers and a commitment to excellence, innovation, diversity, and integrity.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Identify potential suppliers, conduct market research, and evaluate supplier capabilities

Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.

Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and develop new vendor partnerships.

Execute end-to-end purchasing processes, including purchase requisition, sourcing, purchase orders, and invoice processing.

Ensure compliance with purchasing policies, procedures, and regulations.

Monitor supplier performance, quality, and delivery timelines to maintain a reliable supply chain.

Analyze pricing trends and market conditions to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Develop and implement cost reduction strategies while maintaining product/service quality.

Collaborate with suppliers to address issues, resolve disputes, and ensure consistent delivery of goods and services

Conduct regular supplier evaluations and performance reviews.

Review and negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers.

Ensure contract terms are favorable, and legal and compliance requirements are met.

Job Requirements:

Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar Buyer or Purchasing role, preferably in the Manufacturing and Power Industry (added advantages)

Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen eye for detail

Proficiency in inventory management, including forecasting, planning, and optimization.

Familiarity with procurement best practices and experience in implementing efficient processes

Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
