Job summary

POET Technologies in Penang, Malaysia is seeking a procurement professional to manage end-to-end purchasing of semiconductor materials, components, equipment and services to ensure availability, cost, quality and on-time delivery.

You will work with Planning, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance and Logistics to review requirements, issue POs, source suppliers, negotiate terms and monitor supplier performance. Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (SAP/Oracle) and Excel is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline is required.
• 2–3 years of purchasing/procurement experience preferred.
• Experience in semiconductor/electronics manufacturing is a plus.
• Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (SAP/Oracle) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review material requirements and generate purchase orders to support production needs.
• Procure materials, components, spare parts, consumables, and services.
• Monitor and manage open POs, ensuring on-time delivery and adjust orders as needed.
• Source, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers to meet business needs.
• Monitor supplier performance in terms of cost, quality, and delivery and resolve issues.
• Obtain quotations and negotiate pricing, MOQs, payment terms, and lead times.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and monitor market trends affecting costs.
• Maintain procurement data in ERP/MRP systems and track KPIs while ensuring policy compliance.

Responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities for semiconductor materials, components, equipment and services to ensure material availability, competitive cost, quality and on-time delivery. The incumbent will work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders including Planning, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance and Logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review material requirements and generate purchase orders to support production needs.
• Procure materials, components, spare parts, consumables, and services.
• Monitor and manage open POs, ensuring on-time delivery and adjusting orders based on demand changes.
• Source, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers to support business requirements.
• Monitor supplier performance in terms of Cost, Quality, and Delivery (CQD) and resolve related issues.
• Obtain quotations and negotiate pricing, MOQ, payment terms, lead times, and delivery conditions.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and monitor market trends impacting procurement costs.
• Manage material availability, inventory levels, supply risks, and support NPI and engineering changes.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Logistics, and Finance to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain procurement data in ERP/MRP systems, track key procurement KPIs, and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Business, Logistics or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant purchasing/ procurement experience.
• Experience in semiconductor, electronics, manufacturing or semiconductor equipment industry preferred; semiconductor experience strongly preferred for this role.
• Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, preferably SAP, Oracle or equivalent.
• Good understanding of purchasing processes, inventory and material planning.
• Strong negotiation and supplier-management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
