Job summary

Chemical Company of Malaysia Berhad is seeking a purchasing and procurement professional to identify suppliers, solicit tenders and secure best terms for non-stock items, packaging materials and services. You will manage vendor relationships, gather data, ensure compliance with government rules, and support spare parts operations.

The role requires a Diploma in Purchasing or related fields, with fresh graduates or 2 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or contract management.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Material Management or related fields.
• Fresh Graduates or min 2 years working experience in supply chain, procurement, vendor and contract management.

Responsibilities

• Identify, select and develop sources of supplies and procure non-stock items, packaging materials and services per requirements and procedures.
• Secure samples, descriptions, photos or data from suppliers for end users’ information and evaluation.
• Prepare and issue tender invitations; coordinate with Engineers, Managers and suppliers through tender to Letter of Award and PO.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of government rules affecting purchases and ensure compliance.
• Summarize vendor information for costing, specification, delivery dates and other criteria to determine best bid and favorable terms.
• Source for competitive costs and arrange disposal of scrap items.
• Assist in spare gear store operations on rotation when Senior Assistant/Storekeeper is absent.
• Collaborate with PGW department for service requirements (RFFQ to vendor, etc.).

Job description

Minimum – Diploma in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Material Management and any of the following fields – Business, Finance and Engineering

Fresh Graduates or min 2 years working experience in supply chain, procurement, vendor and contract management.

Main Duties

To identify, select, develop sources of supplies and procure for non-stock item, packaging materials and services in accordance with established requirements, policies and procedures

To secure samples, descriptions, photos or data on materials and products from suppliers for end users’ information and evaluation.

To prepare and issue out tender invitations, coordinate with Engineers, Managers and suppliers for tender process and finally issuance of Letter of Award and PO process upon tender finalization.

To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of all government rules affecting purchases and provide information to team members and users compliance.

To obtain and summarize vendors information in terms of costing, specification, delivery dates and other relevant criteria to determine best bid among potential suppliers and negotiate the most favorable terms for the company.

To source for most competitive cost and arrangement for disposal of scrap items processes

To assist in the spare gear store operations on rotation basis, in the absence of Senior Assistant/ Storekeeper.

To work with PGW department / user for service requirements, i.e. RFFQ to vendor etc.
