Job summary

Contacthings, a Penang-based engineering company in Malaysia, is seeking a procurement professional to manage sourcing from local and overseas suppliers and ensure timely delivery to support production and customers.

You will negotiate best pricing, terms, and freight, maintain records, and monitor supplier performance; you will also handle purchase orders and drive on-time shipments across high-precision semiconductor projects.

Job Description

Responsible to manage procurement activities, source materials from local and overseas suppliers, and ensure timely delivery to support production and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Source, evaluate, and negotiate the best pricing, payment terms, and freight terms with local and overseas suppliers.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date purchasing records, supplier data, and documentation in the system.
• Ensure suppliers meet required lead times, delivery schedules, and operational expectations.
• Prepare, issue, and process purchase orders promptly and accurately.
• Follow up closely on incoming parts, quantities, and shipment status to ensure on-time delivery.

Requirements

• SPM/Diploma/Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.
• Preferably 1–3 years experience in purchasing or procurement.
• Experience in engineering, manufacturing, or trading environment is an advantage.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills.
• Good attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple purchase orders efficiently.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and email communication.
• Independent, responsible, and proactive working attitude.
