Job summary

Power Root Berhad in Malaysia seeks a Finance Automation Specialist to blend finance knowledge with process improvement. You will design automated reporting, build BI dashboards, and connect data across systems to enhance visibility and decision-making.

You will own improvement initiatives from problem identification to deployment, using Power BI, Power Automate, and coding skills. A proactive mindset and stakeholder collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Finance background is advantageous.
• Experience in transformation projects including migration between accounting systems is advantageous.
• Project management background is advantageous.
• Passion for problem solving, process improvement, and finding better ways of working.
• Strong active listening to understand stakeholder needs before proposing solutions.
• Hands‑on experience with Power BI, Power Automate, or other BI and automation tools.
• Knowledge of SQL, Python, APIs, or other programming technologies.
• Understanding of how Finance connects with Sales and Operations.
• Ability to translate business problems into practical, technology-driven solutions.
• Proactive mindset, curiosity, and confidence to challenge existing processes constructively.

Responsibilities

• Identify manual, repetitive, and inefficient processes across Finance, Sales, and Operations.
• Design and implement automation solutions using BI tools and other relevant technologies.
• Reduce manual work, improve accuracy, strengthen controls, and increase productivity.
• Explore opportunities to apply AI and coding to solve business problems.
• Develop Power BI dashboards and automated reporting solutions.
• Connect data from different systems and sources to improve visibility and decision-making.
• Replace manual, spreadsheet-heavy reporting with scalable and efficient solutions.
• Work with Finance, Sales, and Operational Teams to understand their challenges and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Review existing workflows, identify bottlenecks, and develop more efficient ways of working.
• Take ownership of improvement initiatives from identifying the problem through development, implementation, and continuous improvement.

This is not a traditional accounting or reporting role. You will combine your understanding of Finance and business processes with your technical skills to identify problems, develop solutions, automate workflows, and challenge the way things are done today.
