Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking an Asia Logistics Manager to oversee distribution and fulfillment through 3PL partners across the Asia region. The role focuses on capacity, throughput, and ensuring compliant, efficient order shipments while collaborating with Legal, Tax, Sales, and IT.

The position reports to the Director of WWOPS Logistics. The role requires extensive logistics experience, strategic planning, and a hands-on, results-oriented approach with travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership in logistics operations and program management.
  • Deep knowledge of logistics operations, inventory planning, and Asia trade compliance processes.
  • Experience managing 3PLs, freight forwarders, and fulfillment hubs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide managerial oversight for a large DC and cross-dock operated by 3PL partners.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Order Management, Revenue, Planning, Tax and Compliance to roadmap processes.
  • Coordinate system integration with third-party partners to implement programs.
  • Manage project timelines, priorities, and initiatives to align with WWOPS goals.
  • Monitor cross-functional process linkages and drive continuous improvements.

Job Description:

The WW Logistics and Fulfillment Organization is responsible for the delivery and fulfillment of customer orders on a global basis. The Asia Logistics Manager shall be responsible for oversight of the Distribution and Logistics into and out of Asia. The logistics operation, as managed by the designed HPE third party logistics provider (3PL), will support order fulfillment for both configured and build to order products Worldwide. This position shall ensure that HPE’s 3PLs have established processes in place to meet the following requirements for the management sufficient capacity and throughput to support peak and end of quarter periods. Will work in a collaborative way with several other cross-functional disciplines such as Legal and Compliance, Tax, Sales, Revenue, IT, and other functional and logistics teams (process owners) to bring process management acumen and discipline to the company, and coordinate efforts across the business. This position will report into the Director of WWOPS Logistics.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Should possess at least 10 years’ experience in progressively more responsible leadership positions in areas of Logistics operations, Logistics Program management, Supply Planning & Trade Compliance.
  • Should display an in-depth knowledge of both Logistics operations, strategy, inventory planning and Asia Trade Compliance processes including but not limited to understanding Monitor and Deliver Order Shipments across a Regional footprint.
  • Reconcile and Manage Returns/Stock Rotation, Merge in Transit, Perform Compliance Checks, Generate Trade Documents and SOX compliance revenue recognition practices.
  • Understand the capabilities of Global / Regional Freight Forwarding Providers as well as Fulfillment Hub Providers. Knowledge in areas of logistics planning/analytics would be helpful.
  • Experience managing key projects that are cross-functional – Successful candidates should possess a proven ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams and objectively present pros and cons of alternatives. Be capable to assess and providing guidance on reducing risks of various alternatives.
  • Extensive knowledge of process management tools, Six Sigma, metrics, and performance measurement techniques. The ideal candidate knows how to employ these tools and processes effectively incorporating metrics by which progress against plan can be measured.
  • Demonstrated successful experience in assessing process requirements, process development and implementation, and process maintenance.
  • Must be able to think strategically and plan effectively; yet possess a detail-oriented, hands-on approach. Must be results-oriented and ability to operate with a high sense of urgency.
  • Demonstrated ability of establishing large distribution / fulfillment centers – Reasonable amount of travel related to work responsibility is required.
  • Multiple Languages preferred – Knowledge of CM business in Asia.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide managerial oversight for a large DC and cross dock, as operated by HPE’s designed 3PL. Prepare, manage, and monitor labor, capacity and DC/cross dock throughput.
  • Work closely with various internal business/process owners, within logistics as well as with Sales, Order Management, Revenue, Planning, Tax and Compliance etc. Develop and implement a plan (roadmap) to achieve objectives for each of these processes.
  • Align with and leverage third party system integration partners and consultants to plan and implement agreed programs.
  • Manage project timelines. Be able to establish priorities, make business trade-offs, and sequence initiatives necessary to achieve long-term process goals. Ensure the integration of initiatives is completely consistent with the company’s and WWOPS functional strategic goals and objectives.
  • Coordinate with functional organizations to determine key linkage between cross-functional processes. Proactively monitor and manage their linkage.
  • Create by collaboration with the process owners, business case documents supporting project initiatives including business cases, ROIs, project functional scopes and specifications.
  • Proactively and continuously identify business areas where improvements can be made to streamline workflow and application flow resulting in measurable savings of time, effort and costs.
  • Constantly monitors industry for best practices in the Logistics and Trade Compliance functional business areas to leverage in business processes, driving improvements in workflow and applications.
