Job summary
Akademi Sempoa & Mental Aritmetik UCMAS Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Business Development & Operations Manager in Malaysia to lead branches and franchise partners. You will drive enrolment, optimise operations and build future leaders across multiple locations, with travel to centres as needed.
You will partner with centre principals and teams to raise service quality, efficiency and performance while expanding the franchise network and partnerships.
Qualifications
- 8-10 years of solid experience in Operations, Retail Operations, Branch Operations or Franchise Operations.
- Strong experience managing people, branches or multiple outlets.
- Several years of management or leadership experience.
- Commercial and operational mindset.
- Confident with KPIs and business performance.
- Excellent communication and people management skills.
- Ability to make decisions and work independently.
- Willingness to travel between branches and franchise centres.
- Experience from retail chains, franchise businesses, F&B, education, enrichment centres or other multi-location operations.
- Training on UCMAS programmes and systems will be provided.

We are looking for an experienced, energetic and hands‑on Business Development & Operations Manager to manage and grow our company branches and franchise network.
This role is for someone who enjoys leading people, solving problems and making things happen.
You won't just prepare reports or attend meetings. You will work closely with our Centre Principals, teams and franchise partners to improve operations, develop people and grow the business.
Oversee the performance of company branches and franchise centres
Conduct regular centre visits and operational reviews
Identify problems and implement practical solutions
Improve service quality, efficiency and operational standards
Support franchise partners in improving their centre performance
Manage and coach Centre Principals and branch teams
Set clear targets and follow up on performance
Develop stronger managers and future leaders
Build a positive, responsible and results-driven team culture
Step in and support teams when challenges arise
Drive student enrolment and centre growth
Monitor leads, conversions, retention and revenue
Support local marketing, events and student recruitment activities
Identify new partnerships and business opportunities
Help franchisees grow stronger and more sustainable centres
You have:
8-10 years of solid experience in Operations, Retail Operations, Branch Operations or Franchise Operations
Strong experience managing people, branches or multiple outlets
Several years of management or leadership experience
A strong commercial and operational mindset
Confidence working with KPIs and business performance
Good communication and people‑management skills
The ability to make decisions and work independently
Willingness to travel between branches and franchise centres
Experience from retail chains, franchise businesses, F&B, education, enrichment centres, service businesses or other multi‑location operations is highly relevant.
Education industry experience is not required. Training on UCMAS programmes and systems will be provided.
