Job summary

Akademi Sempoa & Mental Aritmetik UCMAS Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Centre Principal/Centre Manager to lead a busy UCMAS centre. You will drive enrolment, develop the teaching team and communicate with parents to grow the centre.

You will manage daily operations, schedules and performance while training new teachers and maintaining a welcoming centre environment. Mandarin-speaking relationships are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in leading education centres or similar teams.
• Ability to coach, guide and train teachers.
• Strong communication with parents, students and staff.
• Comfortable with sales targets and student recruitment.
• Organised and capable of multi‑task management.

This is not just an administrative role.

You will be the person who leads the centre, develops the teaching team, communicates with parents and drives student enrolment and centre growth.

Your Main Responsibilities

Manage the Centre

Manage the overall daily operations of the UCMAS centre

Ensure classes, teachers and centre activities run smoothly

Arrange teacher schedules and classroom manpower

Maintain a professional, organised and welcoming centre environment

Monitor centre performance and achieve operational targets

Handle day-to-day issues independently and report progress to management

One of your key responsibilities will be to build a strong teaching team.

Train and guide new teachers

Coach teachers on classroom management and teaching standards

Monitor teaching performance and provide constructive feedback

Help new teachers build confidence before handling classes independently

Ensure teachers are well prepared for every class

Build a positive, responsible and supportive team culture

You do not need to know everything on your first day — UCMAS training and guidance will be provided.

Recruit New Students & Grow the Centre

This is an important part of the role.

Handle enquiries from interested parents

Explain UCMAS programmes confidently

Conduct programme introductions and centre tours

Follow up with parents and convert enquiries into registrations

Achieve monthly student recruitment targets

Participate in open days, roadshows, events and promotional activities

Work with the team to develop local student recruitment activities

Build relationships within the surrounding community

Help the centre continuously increase its student population

Build good relationships with parents and students

Communicate student progress professionally

Handle enquiries, feedback and concerns

Monitor student attendance and retention

Follow up with parents when necessary

Create a positive experience for families from enquiry to enrolment and throughout their learning journey

Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for someone who is:

Confident and comfortable leading a team

Good at communicating with parents

Able to coach, guide and train new teachers

Comfortable with sales, follow-up and student recruitment

Responsible and able to manage a centre independently

Energetic, positive and willing to take initiative

Organised and able to handle multiple responsibilities

Comfortable working towards enrolment and centre performance targets

Interested in education and working with children

Experience in an education centre, tuition centre, enrichment centre, preschool, childcare, retail management, sales or customer service will be an advantage.

Diploma or Degree holders are welcome to apply.

This role involves regular communication with Mandarin-speaking parents, students and team members, therefore good Mandarin communication skills will be a strong advantage.

Ability to communicate in English and Bahasa Malaysia will also be useful.
