The successful candidate should understand the Malaysian enterprise market, be comfortable engaging senior customer stakeholders, and be able to work effectively with distributors, resellers, system integrators, MSSPs, presales teams, and regional resources.

A practical understanding of cybersecurity is required. The candidate does not need to be a technical engineer, but should be able to understand customer security challenges, position solutions at a business level, and coordinate technical resources throughout the sales cycle.

Key Responsibilities
1. Malaysia Market & Business Development
  • Own and develop new cybersecurity business opportunities across the Malaysia market.
  • Build a sustainable pipeline through direct customer engagement, channel partners, referrals, industry events, and targeted account development.
  • Identify and prioritize strategic accounts and verticals with strong business potential.
  • Develop account and territory plans aligned with revenue and pipeline objectives.
  • Maintain consistent opportunity progression from initial engagement through commercial closure.
  • Engage enterprise customers to understand business priorities, cybersecurity challenges, budgets, decision processes, and project timelines.
  • Build relationships with CIOs, CISOs, IT leaders, security teams, procurement stakeholders, and other decision makers.
  • Position cybersecurity solutions based on customer business and security requirements.
  • Coordinate technical presentations, demonstrations, workshops, and Proof-of-Concepts with presales resources.
  • Lead commercial discussions including proposals, pricing, negotiation, forecasting, and closing activities.
  • Maintain ownership of customer follow-up and next steps throughout the sales cycle.
  • Develop productive relationships with distributors, resellers, system integrators, MSSPs, and other channel partners in Malaysia.
  • Identify partners capable of generating and supporting enterprise opportunities.
  • Conduct joint account mapping, pipeline reviews, customer meetings, and go-to-market activities with partners.
  • Drive partner engagement beyond registration by ensuring active opportunity development and customer follow-through.
  • Work with regional and technical teams to support partner enablement and strategic opportunities.
4. Pipeline, Forecasting & Commercial Discipline
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, opportunity stages, customer activities, and next actions.
  • Provide realistic sales forecasts based on customer validation and opportunity maturity.
  • Track pipeline coverage, conversion, PoCs, proposals, and expected closures.
  • Follow company commercial processes, pricing guidelines, and compliance requirements.
  • Take accountability for assigned sales targets and business development objectives.
  • Monitor cybersecurity market trends, customer priorities, competitor activities, and pricing dynamics in Malaysia.
  • Provide feedback on customer requirements, competitor positioning, partner capabilities, and market opportunities.
  • Represent the business at relevant industry events, partner activities, customer workshops, and networking sessions.
Required Experience & Qualifications
  • Approximately 5–10 years of experience in business development, enterprise sales, account management, channel sales, or related commercial roles.
  • Relevant experience in cybersecurity, enterprise IT, software, cloud, networking, infrastructure, or technology solutions is strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience developing enterprise opportunities and managing multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
  • Experience working with channel partners, system integrators, distributors, or MSSPs is highly advantageous.
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the Malaysia business environment and enterprise customer landscape.
Cybersecurity & Technical Understanding
  • Basic to intermediate understanding of enterprise cybersecurity concepts and common customer security challenges.
  • Familiarity with areas such as endpoint security, EDR/XDR, network security, NDR, cloud security, email security, vulnerability management, and security operations is advantageous.
  • Able to discuss cybersecurity solutions at a business and high-level technical level.
  • Able to work effectively with presales engineers to translate customer requirements into appropriate solution discussions.
  • Willingness to continuously develop cybersecurity and technology knowledge.
Language Requirements
  • English working proficiency is required for customer, partner, and regional communication.
  • Basic Mandarin understanding and speaking ability is required for communication with relevant customers, partners, and regional stakeholders.
  • Basic Malay understanding and speaking ability is required for local customer and partner engagement.
  • The role does not require advanced Mandarin or Malay reading and writing proficiency.
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
  • Confident customer-facing communication and presentation ability.
  • Strong commercial awareness, negotiation, and opportunity management skills.
  • Self-motivated, disciplined, target-driven, and comfortable taking ownership of results.
  • Able to manage multiple opportunities and maintain consistent follow-up.
