The Business Development Manager will be assisting the General Manager of Marketing & Business Development in driving the company's business growth through market development, customer expansion, strategic partnerships, product development and commercial initiatives with the fertilizer and related agricultural sectors.
The position require a commercially minded professional who can combine industry knowledge, market intelligence, data analysis and relationship management to identify opportunities and develop actional busine strategics.
The successful candidate will work closely with Sales & Marketing, operations, Technical/Quality, Finance and senior management to develop and execute business initiative aligned with the company's strategic objectives.
Identify and develop new business opportunities within the fertilizer, plantation, agriculture and related sectors.
Develop new customer segments, geographical markets and commercial channels.
Conduct market mapping and identify opportunities for market penetration and expansion.
Develop and maintain relationships with key corporate customers, manufacturers and strategic partners.
Monitor fertilizer market trends, pricing, supply-demand dynamics, raw material movements and competitor activities.
Analyses sales, customer, market and commercial data to identify trends and opportunities.
Prepare market intelligence reports and management dashboards.
Identify opportunities for new fertilizer, specialty fertilizer and related agricultural products.
Work with technical and product development teams to assess market requirements and commercial viability.
Develop strong relationships with key corporate customers and industry stakeholders.
Represent the company at industry meetings, conferences, exhibitions and business engagements.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification in Business Administration, Marketing, Agribusiness, Agriculture, Agronomy, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Economics, Finance or a related discipline.
A relevant professional qualification or postgraduate qualification in Business, Marketing, Agribusiness or a related field will be an added advantage.
Min 5 years of relevant working experience in fertilizer industry.
Strong understanding of fertilizer markets, customers, applications and industry dynamics.
Strong analytical and commercial thinking with the ability to interpret sales, market and financial data.
Ability to identify market trends, opportunities, risks and competitive developments.
Proficient in Microsoft office such as Excel, Power Point and Words, Microsoft Power BI, Tableau or similar platforms is an advantage
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Strong presentation and negotiation skills
Able to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, senior management and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across different departments.
