Job summary

Quess is seeking a Business Development Manager – Solar with a focus on BESS and utility-scale projects in Malaysia. You will own deals from initial client conversations through to signed orders, coordinating with technical teams to shape winning proposals and secure grid connection readiness.

The role requires 5–10 years in energy sector business development or project sales, a degree in Electrical or Energy Engineering, and a strong Malaysia network among developers, EPCs, and utilities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical or Energy Engineering (or related field).
• 5–10 years in energy/power sector business development, project sales, or key account management.
• A working network among developers, EPCs, consultants, or utilities in Malaysia’s energy space.
• Comfort discussing technical solutions with engineers and decision-makers.

Responsibilities

• Hunting down and converting new project opportunities with developers, EPC contractors, utilities, and consultants in the solar/BESS space.
• Getting involved early in projects — shaping specs and product selection before tenders even go out.
• Owning the full sales cycle: pipeline building, proposal coordination, tender support, negotiation, and order closing.
• Acting as the main point of contact for clients throughout project execution.
• Occasionally supporting commercial & industrial rooftop solar deals when opportunities arise.
