Job summary

Gading Kencana Sdn Bhd is hiring a Business Development Engineer to drive energy and integrated solutions. You will prepare technical and commercial proposals, assess Solar PV, BESS and EV charging opportunities, and develop system configurations and financial models for clients.

The role requires 3–7 years in energy solutions, strong Excel and modelling skills, and the ability to translate requirements into viable business cases. Travel to client sites will be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 3–7 years of relevant experience in renewable energy or energy solutions.
• Experience with Solar PV, BESS, EV charging or related infra.
• Strong Excel and financial modelling skills.
• Understanding CAPEX, OPEX, cash flow, IRR, NPV and payback.
• Translate technical requirements into practical, commercial solutions.
• Experience in proposals, feasibility studies, tenders and costing.
• Analytical, problem-solving, communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Commercially minded; identify opportunities beyond a single tech.
• Willing to travel for meetings and site visits.
• Experience with PVsyst, AutoCAD or similar tools is advantageous.
• Knowledge of BESS, SARE, PPA, EV charging and energy management models is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical and commercial proposals for energy and infrastructure solutions.

• Develop preliminary technical solutions and system configurations.
• Prepare financial models including CAPEX, OPEX, savings, IRR and NPV.
• Evaluate different commercial models including CAPEX, PPA, leasing or other.
• Identify opportunities to combine technologies for stronger value.
• Attend client meetings, site visits and technical discussions.
• Prepare proposals, feasibility studies, tenders, BOQs and costing.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, finance, project and external partners.
• Conduct preliminary feasibility assessments and advise management.
• Support BD activities: opportunity ID, engagement, negotiations and closing.
• Prepare project presentations and investment papers for approvals.
• Stay updated on renewable energy, energy storage, EV infrastructure and smart energy systems.

Gading Kencana Sdn Bhd is expanding rapidly and is in search for a Business Development Engineer - Energy and Integrated Solutions. the Job Description of the said position are as below;

• Develop technical and commercial proposals for energy and infrastructure solutions.
• Assess opportunities involving Solar PV, BESS, EV Charging and integrated solutions.
• Analyse client requirements, electricity bills, energy consumption, site conditions, available space and operational requirements.
• Develop preliminary technical solutions and system configurations based on client requirements.
• Prepare financial models including CAPEX, OPEX, savings, revenue, cash flow, payback period, IRR and NPV.
• Evaluate different commercial models including CAPEX, PPA, leasing, SARE and other financing or business models.
• Identify opportunities where multiple technologies can be combined to create a more attractive solution for the client.
• Attend client meetings, site visits and technical discussions to understand requirements and present proposed solutions.
• Prepare proposals, feasibility studies, tender submissions, BOQs, costing and commercial presentations.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, finance, project and external partners to develop accurate and competitive proposals.
• Conduct preliminary technical and financial feasibility assessments and recommend suitable solutions to management.
• Support business development activities including opportunity identification, client engagement, negotiations and project closing.
• Prepare project presentations and investment papers for management review and approval.
• Keep abreast of developments in renewable energy, energy storage, EV infrastructure, smart energy systems and emerging technologies.

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering discipline.
• 3–7 years of relevant experience in renewable energy, electrical engineering, EPC, energy solutions, infrastructure or related industries.
• Experience in Solar PV, BESS, EV Charging, Mechanical Parking or other energy/infrastructure solutions will be an advantage.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and financial modelling skills.
• Good understanding of CAPEX, OPEX, project cash flow, IRR, NPV and payback period.
• Ability to understand technical requirements and translate them into practical and commercially viable solutions.
• Experience in preparing technical and commercial proposals, feasibility studies, tenders and project costing.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Commercially minded and able to identify opportunities beyond a single technology or product.
• Comfortable dealing directly with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and business partners.
• Willing to travel for client meetings, site visits and project assessments.
• Experience with PVsyst, AutoCAD, electrical design software or other engineering tools will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of BESS, CRESS, SARE, PPA, EV charging, energy management systems or other energy business models will be an advantage.
