We are seeking a talented and ambitious Business Development Associate to join the The Law Chambers of Lim, a forward-thinking legal firm based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. This is a full-time position offering an exceptional opportunity to drive new business growth and expansion for our firm. As a Business Development Associate, you will play a crucial role in identifying, cultivating, and securing new client relationships whilst supporting the strategic growth objectives of the firm. This role is instrumental in positioning us as a competitive and expanding legal services provider in the Malaysian market.

Key responsibilities

Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the legal services market, targeting potential corporate and individual clients

Develop and implement strategies to build and maintain relationships with prospective clients and referral partners

Conduct market research and competitive analysis to understand industry trends and identify growth opportunities for the firm

Prepare and deliver engaging business proposals and pitches to potential clients, highlighting the firm's services and expertise

Support the development of marketing materials, case studies, and content that showcase the firm's capabilities

Collaborate with external stakeholders to understand service offerings and translate these into compelling business opportunities

Maintain accurate records of business development activities, client interactions, and pipeline progress

Attend networking events, conferences, and industry forums to generate leads and enhance the firm's profile

Follow up with leads systematically and efficiently to move opportunities through the sales pipeline

Report on business development metrics and provide regular updates on progress towards growth targets

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, Marketing, or a related field

Proven experience in business development, sales, or new business generation roles, ideally within professional services or the legal sector

Strong understanding of the Malaysian legal services market and familiarity with different practice areas

Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex legal services to diverse audiences

Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships and networks

Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple prospects and priorities simultaneously

Self-motivated and results-driven with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding business development targets

Proficiency in digital tools and Microsoft Office applications

Fluency in English and Malay; additional language skills are advantageous

Willingness to travel within Malaysia for client meetings and networking activities
