Job summary

A Penang-based prominent legal firm is expanding and seeking a senior commercial lawyer to join their team. You will lead high-stakes negotiations, advise corporate structures, and oversee due diligence for M&A and IP matters.

Responsibilities include drafting, negotiating and finalizing commercial contracts, supporting the team with research and opinions, and representing clients in disputes and arbitration to achieve favorable outcomes. Fluency in English and Bahasa Melayu is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B) and CLP practicing certificate.
• At least 5+ years of commercial legal experience with corporate, IP, and litigation focus.
• Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and legal advisory skills.
• Multilingual: Bahasa Melayu and English; Mandarin is an advantage.

Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and legal advisory skills.

Multilingual abilities; proficiency in Bahasa Melayu and English is essential (Mandarin is an advantage).

Demonstrated ability to work independently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
