Job summary

GLORYHALL HOTEL SDN BHD is seeking a skilled Hotel Maintenance Technician to oversee maintenance, repair, and operation of hotel facilities and systems. You will focus on air-conditioning, electrical, plumbing, and general building upkeep to ensure guest comfort and safety.

The role requires hands-on experience in HVAC systems, electrical work, and building maintenance, with ability to respond quickly to service requests and coordinate with external contractors when needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM or equivalent; Diploma or certs preferred in HVAC/building maintenance.
• HVAC certification or trade certs are highly preferred.
• Experience in hotel maintenance or hospitality environments is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on hotel facilities and guestrooms.
• Inspect hotel equipment and building systems; plan preventive maintenance.
• Maintain HVAC systems, including chillers, FCUs, AHUs, and split units.
• Address electrical and plumbing issues; ensure safety and compliance.
• Support renovation and facility upgrade projects as needed.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Hotel Maintenance Technician to oversee the maintenance, repair, and smooth operation of our hotel's facilities, equipment, and building systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in building maintenance, electrical work, plumbing, and particularly air-conditioning systems. The role is critical in ensuring a safe, comfortable, and pleasant environment for guests and employees.

Key Responsibilities

General Maintenance

Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair works on hotel facilities, guestrooms, public areas, offices, and back-of-house operations.

Conduct regular inspections of hotel equipment, infrastructure, and building systems to identify maintenance requirements.

Carry out preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment breakdowns and operational disruptions.

Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests, housekeeping, front office, and management.

Maintain hotel facilities in excellent working condition at all times.

Air-Conditioning & HVAC Systems (Priority Responsibility)

Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair air-conditioning systems throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, offices, restaurants, meeting rooms, and common facilities.

Monitor the performance and efficiency of chillers, FCUs (Fan Coil Units), AHUs (Air Handling Units), split units, cassette units, VRV/VRF systems, and ventilation systems.

Perform routine servicing, filter cleaning, gas pressure checks, and preventive maintenance on all HVAC equipment.

Diagnose air-conditioning faults and coordinate repairs to ensure minimal disruption to hotel operations.

Monitor temperature control systems and ensure guest comfort standards are consistently maintained.

Liaise with external HVAC contractors and service providers when major repairs or servicing are required.

Maintain accurate maintenance records for all air-conditioning equipment and servicing schedules.

Electrical & Plumbing Maintenance

Diagnose and repair minor electrical issues, including lighting systems, switches, sockets, circuit breakers, and power-related equipment.

Perform basic plumbing repairs involving water supply systems, drainage systems, faucets, toilets, water heaters, and pumps.

Monitor and maintain building utility systems to ensure efficient operation.

Building & Facility Maintenance

Inspect and maintain walls, ceilings, flooring, doors, windows, locks, furniture, fixtures, and hotel equipment.

Assist in renovation projects, room refurbishment, and facility upgrades as required.

Monitor the overall condition of the building and recommend improvements or repairs when necessary.

Ensure emergency systems such as fire alarms, emergency lighting, fire pumps, and safety equipment are functioning properly.

Requirements

Qualifications

Minimum SPM, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Air-Conditioning, Building Maintenance, Facilities Management, or related fields.

Vocational or technical certifications in HVAC or air-conditioning systems are highly preferred.

Experience

Minimum 1 years of experience in hotel maintenance, building maintenance, facilities management, or a similar role.

Proven experience in air-conditioning and HVAC system maintenance.

Experience working in hotels, serviced apartments, commercial buildings, or hospitality environments will be an added advantage.
