Responsibilities

• Identify cross-sell opportunities, manage tenders and respond to RFPs; develop proposals and presentations.
• Analyze client risk exposures, negotiate terms with insurers and manage claims.
• Provide risk management consultancy and stay updated on market trends; maintain strong client relationships.

Job description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Risk Management team at Marsh Insurance Brokers (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd. This role will be based in Pavilion Damansara, Kuala Lumpur. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

We will count on you to:

1. Operational Management & Administration

• Oversee the entire day-to-day operations of the Risk Management department
• Manage administrative functions including file management, documentation, and compliance
• Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
• Monitor department efficiency and implement process improvements
• Maintain records, databases, and systems accuracy
• Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries and concerns
• Handle and respond promptly to all client communications (calls, emails, site visits)
• Manage insurer inquiries and coordinate with insurance partners
• Address internal departmental and cross-functional inquiries
• Ensure excellent customer service and maintain strong client relationships
• Document and track all inquiries and resolutions
• Initiate, track and manage all policy renewal deadlines
• Prepare renewal quotes and documentation
• Communicate renewal requirements to clients in a timely manner
• Coordinate with underwriters and insurance partners
• Ensure timely renewal execution and client confirmation
• Follow up on pending renewals and address delays

4. Business Development & Sales

• Identify and pursue cross-sell opportunities within existing client base
• Manage tender processes and respond to RFP inquiries
• Develop new business opportunities aligned with departmental goals
• Prepare proposals and presentations for potential clients
• Support marketing and business development initiatives
• Maintain active business pipeline and sales records
• Mentor and coach junior staff members and downlines
• Conduct trainings to clients
• Monitor team performance and provide constructive feedback
• Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment

6. Insurance Broker Responsibilities

• Analyze client risk exposures and recommend appropriate coverage
• Negotiate coverage terms and conditions with insurers
• Manage claims and liaison with insurers on claims matters
• Provide expert risk management consultation and advice
• Maintain knowledge of insurance market trends and product offerings
• Generate accurate quotations and insurance proposals

What you need to have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in any field
• Minimum 7-10 years in insurance brokerage, risk management, or related field
• Candidate must hold a valid Basic Certificate Course in Insurance and Takaful Broking (BCCITB)
• Willing to contribute to expand your clientele coverage by engaging in business development activities when required
• A people person and good communication skills in English and Bahasa Melayu
