Job summary

Marsh & McLennan Asia Business Services (MMABS) seeks a Senior Insurance Operations Specialist in Kuala Lumpur. The role supports Marsh Client Executives and Brokers, delivering excellent service in client onboarding, renewals and placement, and related documentation across markets.

You will work with country teams, ensure accuracy of renewal materials, and help with the Digital Trading Platform implementation while maintaining strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with 7+ years in the insurance industry.
• Strong interpersonal skills with country teams, clients and insurers.
• Ability to work under pressure in a cyclical business environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and compliance awareness.

Responsibilities

• On-board new clients and monitor due diligence across countries and markets.
• Support renewal and placement processes, review renewal reports and ensure documents are ready.
• Coordinate with CE/Broker and servicing teams; ensure records and communications are filed.
• Assist with fiduciary queries and liaise with Kuala Lumpur support teams as needed.
• Support Marsh Digital Trading Platform implementation and related documentation.

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Placement team at Marsh & McLennan Asia Business Services (MMABS). This role will be based in our Pavilion Damansara Corporate Towers, Kuala Lumpur office. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working as per respective team's arrangement.

Senior Insurance Operations Specialist

To provide support to Marsh Client Executives and Brokers, and deliver excellent service support for the businesses.

We will count on you to:

Client On-Boarding

• Arrange for new clients to be set up on our systems, monitor progress of on-boarding/due diligence of clients, intermediaries, and markets. Liaison with country business teams.
• Assist country business teams with updating / monitoring of MPower.

Renewal & Placement

• Help prepare, and review renewal reports prepared by the Pre-Renewal Team
• Identify any risks that are not required, 90 days ahead of the renewal date.
• Working with the CE to ensure that all documents are accurate and ready to proceed with the renewal.
• Review of risks being renewed and checking to see that the relevant premium has been paid to insurers.
• Follow up with insurers on risk / exposure related matters (renewal and ongoing placement maintenance).
• Support implementation of insurance contract through the Marsh Digital Trading Platform, where applicable.
• Ensure appropriate records of CE’s negotiations/communications with client and insurers is maintained and filed.
• Where applicable, issuance of Confirmation letters and liaise with insurers on Certificates.
• Support on preparation of premium and allocation schedules.
• Review and check all documentation for content accuracy in accordance with:
• Client First Principles and Quality Assurance Checklists
• Marsh Compliance Standards
• Monitor and manage workflow, coordinate the flow of business into Client Servicing Teams
• Review and respond to queries emanating from Marsh Operations and manage these to close in a timely manner.
• Ensure timely authorisation of documentation, and distribution to client service teams – insurer policy documentation, debit notes, invoices and evidence of cover.
• Develop and sustain supportive and productive working relationship with both CE/Broker and Policy Servicing teams.
• Where required, assist with Fiduciary related queries (funds not received, funds received not paid to insurers) by working with other Kuala Lumper based support teams on the ground.

Other:

• Set and achieve specific goals as evidenced in Workday
• Complete mandatory training requirements as may be required from time to time by the firm and within the timeframes given
• Complete the Firm’s CPD requirements, currently 35 hours per year, in a timely manner.
• Client and prospect discovery projects – news article and insurance related websites.

What you need to have:

• Bachelor's degree in any field with a minimum of 7 years of relevant working experience in the insurance industry
• Interpersonal skills – includes country business teams, clients and insurers
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to cope with cyclical nature of the business
