Job summary

Dyson Institute seeks a Principal Engineer to lead BoM and Configuration Management across Product Development. You will define standards, govern processes and drive continuous improvement to ensure BoM integrity and lifecycle traceability within Dyson's PLM environment.

Collaborating with Engineering, IT and PLM stakeholders, you will advance the digital thread, promote governance maturity and deliver scalable, reusable configurations for future product development initiatives.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in Configuration Management, Product Data Management or PLM disciplines.
• Experience defining, implementing or improving product configuration and lifecycle governance in complex environments.
• Strong grasp of BoM structures, configuration control, traceability and governance practices.
• Experience with PLM, PDM, ERP or engineering lifecycle platforms and transformation initiatives.
• Understanding of digital thread, configuration management and PLM principles.

Responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve BoM and Configuration Management capabilities across Product Development.
• Define, maintain and govern processes, standards and operating procedures.
• Ensure capability development aligns with Dyson's PLM roadmap and governance requirements.
• Collaborate with PLM owners, IT and engineering teams to enable end-to-end lifecycle traceability.
• Lead governance forums, reviews and training to drive adoption and maturity.
