Agro Snow Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. seeks an experienced BO Chargeman / Senior Electrical Technician to oversee electrical systems for a new food manufacturing plant in Tanjung Langsat, Pasir Gudang, Johor. You will manage handover from the contractor and ensure safe, compliant operation of high‑voltage installations.

The role requires hands‑on troubleshooting, 11kV experience and exposure to 33kV work, with responsibility for electrical maintenance, documentation, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Must possess valid BO Chargeman Competency Certificate issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission Malaysia).
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in industrial electrical operations, maintenance or high‑voltage installations.
• Strong hands‑on experience with 11kV installations, substations, transformers, and switchgear.
• Experience with 33kV systems and TNB coordination is a strong advantage.
• Prior experience in factory electrical system handover, testing, commissioning or plant start‑up preferred.
• Familiar with single‑line diagrams, protection systems, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Experience in food manufacturing, chemical processing, heavy industries or other continuous‑process facilities is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Job description

BO Chargeman – Senior Electrical (11kV & 33kV)

Agro Snow Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an experienced and competent BO Chargeman / Senior Electrical Technician to oversee the electrical systems of our newly established food manufacturing plant in Tanjung Langsat, Pasir Gudang.

The successful candidate will play a key role in taking over the plant's electrical installations, equipment, infrastructure, and technical documentation from the appointed electrical contractor following commissioning and handover.

This position requires strong technical knowledge, hands‑on troubleshooting capabilities, and experience in industrial high‑voltage electrical systems, including 11kV and exposure to 33kV installations.

The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the plant's electrical systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with statutory and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Electrical System Handover & Commissioning

Lead and coordinate the handover of all site electrical installations and systems from the appointed electrical contractor.

Participate in site inspections, testing, commissioning, and electrical system acceptance.

Review and verify electrical drawings, single‑line diagrams (SLD), testing reports, operating manuals, equipment warranties, and maintenance documentation.

Identify outstanding electrical works, defects, and safety concerns before final handover.

Coordinate with contractors and consultants to resolve technical issues and ensure proper rectification.

Take ownership of electrical maintenance and operational readiness following successful handover.

2. High-Voltage Electrical Systems (11kV & 33kV)

Oversee the operation, monitoring, inspection, and maintenance coordination of 11kV electrical installations.

Coordinate matters involving 33kV electrical infrastructure, subject to the applicable competency and authorisation requirements.

Monitor transformers, switchgear, protection relays, circuit breakers, and electrical distribution systems.

Coordinate electrical switching, isolation, and restoration activities with appropriately authorised competent personnel.

Monitor electrical loading, power quality, and distribution system performance.

Ensure safe and reliable electricity supply throughout the manufacturing facility.

3. TNB Coordination & Regulatory Compliance

Act as the main site electrical contact for Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), electrical consultants, and relevant authorities.

Support electricity supply connection, energisation, inspections, and technical approvals.

Maintain statutory electrical records, inspection reports, and maintenance documentation.

Ensure electrical activities comply with Suruhanjaya Tenaga requirements, applicable legislation, and safety standards.

Assist management in electrical inspections, audits, and compliance matters.

4. Electrical Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Perform and supervise preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of electrical equipment.

Troubleshoot electrical faults involving motors, transformers, switchboards, MCC panels, VFDs, and industrial control equipment.

Develop preventive maintenance schedules for the plant's electrical infrastructure.

Support electrical troubleshooting during production operations and emergency breakdowns.

Coordinate external electrical service providers and maintenance contractors.

Minimise electrical downtime and ensure continuous plant operations.

5. Plant Operations & Electrical Safety

Support electrical readiness during plant commissioning and commercial production start-up.

Implement safe electrical working practices, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), permit-to-work, and electrical isolation procedures.

Ensure electrical rooms, substations, switchgear, and distribution equipment are maintained in safe operating condition.

Participate in emergency response, electrical incident investigations, and corrective actions.

Maintain electrical spare parts requirements and recommend improvements to system reliability.

Provide technical support to the Engineering and Maintenance team.

Job Requirements
