Job summary

ZONBERATION GROUP (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. seeks a BMC Firmware Engineer / Embedded Software at all levels to join our enterprise server platform team. You will design, implement, and test firmware for BMCs using Embedded C/C++ on OpenBMC with Yocto and embedded Linux.

Candidates should have strong knowledge of IPMI, Redfish, and platform bring-up across I2C, SPI, UART, and PCIe. This role offers exposure to server hardware, security features, and collaboration with global teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• Strong proficiency in C and C++ within embedded environments.
• Solid understanding of Embedded Linux, kernel concepts, device drivers, and multi-threaded programming.
• Familiarity with low-level communication interfaces and buses (I2C, SPI, SMBus, UART).
• 3+ to 5+ years of direct experience in server BMC firmware development (OpenBMC, AMI MegaRAC, or proprietary stacks).
• Professional English communication for cross-functional collaboration.
• Direct hands-on experience with OpenBMC stacks, Yocto layers, or systemd architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain BMC firmware for enterprise server platforms using Embedded C and C++.
• Implement and optimize IPMI, Redfish, MCTP, PLDM, and SPDM protocols.
• Assist with platform bring-up, driver development, and bus-level communication across I2C, SPI, SMBus, UART, and PCIe.
• Customize and build firmware environments using OpenBMC, Yocto, and embedded Linux kernels.
• Trace, analyze, and debug interactions across firmware, hardware, BIOS, and OS with analysis tools.
• Support platform security measures including root-of-trust, secure boot, and attestation.
