Job summary

ZONBERATION GROUP (MALAYSIA) Sdn Bhd is seeking a versatile BMC Firmware Engineer to design, implement and test low‑level firmware for enterprise servers. You will work across OpenBMC, embedded Linux, and server management protocols to build robust out‑of‑band solutions.

This role involves platform bring‑up, device driver work, and security features such as secure boot and TPM/RoT integration, with collaboration across hardware and software teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in a technical discipline such as Computer Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in C and C++ in embedded environments.
• Solid understanding of Embedded Linux, Linux kernel concepts, device drivers, and multi-threaded programming.
• Familiarity with low-level communication interfaces and buses (I2C, SPI, SMBus, UART).
• Experience with OpenBMC, Redfish/IPMI and server platform management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain BMC firmware for enterprise server platforms using Embedded C and C++.
• Implement and optimize out-of-band server management standards, including IPMI, Redfish (RESTful API), MCTP, PLDM, and SPDM.
• Collaborate on platform bring-up, device driver development, and bus-level communication across I2C, SMBus, SPI, UART, and PCIe.
• Customize and build firmware environments utilizing OpenBMC, Yocto Project, and embedded Linux kernels.
• Trace, analyze, and root-cause complex interactions across firmware, hardware logic, BIOS, and operating systems using logic analyzers and oscilloscopes.
• Integrate platform integrity measures, including hardware root-of-trust, secure boot, and cryptographic attestation.
