Job summary

Serac in Klang is seeking an experienced Blowing Automation Engineer to lead electrical panel design and automation for new equipment, translating specifications from the Blowing Product Manager into robust control solutions.

You will interface with production and other departments, prepare startup and FAT plans, perform detailed circuit design with calculations, select components, and support installation, commissioning and on-site troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electricals & Electronics Engineering or related field with at least 10 years working experience in OEM or maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of electrical circuit design, standards, techniques, simulation and component selection.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Experience developing electrical panels and control systems from concept to completion with engineering calculations.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and process flow charts.
• Familiarity with PLC programming (ladder diagrams, function blocks).

Responsibilities

• Lead design of electrical panels and automation from start to end of engineering process.

Job description

The Blowing Automation engineer is responsible of the mechanical development and design the new equipment as per specifications received from the blowing Product Manager. He will be also in charge to interface with other departments to make sure its design answers their needs.

MAIN TASKS

• To lead machine electrical panel design & automation works from Start till the End of engineering process.
• To prepare machine startup & testing planning to suite machine FAT plan.
• To carry out electrical circuit detail design and able to justify the design with calculation and other design basic.
• To select and size appropriate electrical components to suite project requirement with engineering calculation and supporting document.
• To ensure electrical diagrams & BOMs are completed within allowable time schedule.
• To generate new control system architecture as when required.
• To generate new machine feature control sequence flow chart as when required.
• To review and ensure Electrical BOMs are accurate and updated all the time.
• To prepare machine program, control system, safety program and HMI program as per project requirement.
• To startup machine, program testing, troubleshooting and fine tuning in production floor as per planning.
• To support machine installation and commissioning at site as when required.
• To update and compile electrical diagrams & information into PLM after FAT.
• To prepare machine site installation guide for any leftover electrical & automation works after FAT.
• To initiate and prepare standard operating procedures and work instructions for electrical circuit designs and machine control system.
• To provide technical support to Production department on engineering issues and to troubleshoot customer issues with Services.
• To create, enhance and maintain a pool of electrical design database and standard program database that could be used as when required for other projects.
• To participate in process improvement activities that promotes business excellence through cross functional activities, in collaboration with other departments.
• To carry out any other duties that maybe assigned to you by the management from time to time.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

• Standard office hardware and software.
• Highly computer literate and must be proficient in using ePLAN P8, ISaGRAF, Automation Studio, SafeDESIGNER B&R, and VisiWin.
• Good understanding of PLM on daily works.

COMPETENCES & QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be highly experienced in developing machine electrical panel and control system (Mechatronic) from conceptual ideas until full completion of machine with full aid of engineering calculations.
• Has a bachelor’s degree in Electricals & Electronics Engineering or any related qualification with at least 10 years working experience in original equipment manufacturing or maintenance.
• Has good knowledge of electrical circuit design, design standards, techniques, procedures, simulation and standard components selection.
• Has good command of written & spoken English.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Able to read and understand electrical diagram and process flow chart.
• Knowledge of PLC programming such as ladder diagram, function block and etc.
• Self-motivated, creative and pro-active with good teamwork spirit.
