Paradigm Precision Components is seeking an experienced automation engineer to design, develop, and implement automation solutions that improve productivity, quality, safety, and efficiency.
You will lead projects from concept to handover, coordinate with suppliers and integrators, and drive Lean/Six Sigma initiatives to reduce waste and downtime. A strong PLC/HMI/robotics background and CNC experience are essential.
Design, develop, and implement automation solutions to improve productivity, quality, safety, and manufacturing efficiency.
Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, servo motion, robotics, machine vision, and industrial automation systems.
Support automation of CNC machining operations, including robotic machine tending, pallet systems, automatic loading/unloading, and in-process inspection.
Develop electrical schematics, control panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and machine documentation.
Lead automation projects from concept design through procurement, fabrication, installation, commissioning, validation, and production handover.
Coordinate with equipment suppliers, system integrators, contractors, and machine builders throughout project implementation.
Prepare project schedules, budgets, technical specifications, and progress reports.
Identify automation opportunities to reduce manual operations, improve cycle time, increase machine utilization, and reduce manufacturing waste.
Analyze production data to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), process capability, machine uptime, and production efficiency.
Support Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
Troubleshoot automation equipment and control systems to minimize production downtime.
Support preventive and predictive maintenance activities for automation equipment.
Maintain PLC programs, HMI software, machine backups, engineering documentation, and revision control.
Ensure automation systems comply with company safety requirements and applicable industrial standards.
Prepare operating procedures, technical documentation, and user manuals.
Provide technical training and guidance to production operators, technicians, and maintenance personnel.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Engineering Manager.
Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in industrial automation, manufacturing automation, mechatronics, or manufacturing engineering.
Experience in precision machining, CNC manufacturing, aerospace, medical devices, semiconductor, or high-mix low-volume manufacturing is highly preferred.
Experience in automation project implementation within manufacturing environments.
Hands-on experience with PLC programming (Mitsubishi, Siemens, Omron, Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff, or equivalent).
Experience with HMI, SCADA, servo systems, robotics (FANUC) and machine vision systems.
Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and motion control.
Familiar with industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus TCP, EtherCAT, CC-Link IE, or OPC-UA.
Experience using AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar engineering software is an advantage.
Knowledge of machine safety standards and risk assessment is an added advantage.
