Job summary

China Construction Yangtze River (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a BIM Engineer to drive modelling, clash detection, and coordination across disciplines in Kuala Lumpur. The role uses Revit to collect models, draft RFIs, and push timely updates.

You will work with consultants and site teams, develop BIM execution plans, ensure quality and budget compliance, and lead coordination meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in mechanical/electrical engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments with firm deadlines.
• Proficient in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
• Strong coordination and communication with consultants and site teams.

Responsibilities

• Use Revit to collect BIM models per contract requirements.
• Conduct clash detection and generate reports.
• Draft RFIs and modify models based on consultant feedback.
• Inspect subcontractor models across disciplines.
• Develop BIM execution plan and ensure timely delivery.
• Ensure BIM aligns with budget and quality standards.
• Lead BIM coordination meetings and document outcomes.
• Prepare node models and assist in model presentations.
• Coordinate BIM data exchanges between site and BIM team.
• Facilitate communication among consultants, GC, and owners.
• Complete other BIM-related tasks as assigned.

Job description

Job Descriptions:

• Proficiently use Revit software to collect BIM models from various disciplines according to contracts, consultant, and project requirements, conduct clash detection for each discipline's models, and generate clash detection reports.
• Draft Requests for Information (RFI) based on clash detection reports, send them to consultants, and make model modifications based on consultant feedback.
• Inspect subcontractor models for various disciplines.
• Develop a BIM execution plan and ensure timely completion of project tasks as required by the project department and consultants.
• Ensure BIM is completed on time, within budget, and meets the quality standards specified in the contract.
• Participate in and lead BIM coordination meetings organized by consultants, prepare meeting minutes, and provide feedback to the project while proposing solutions.
• Create node models as per project requirements, assisting the technical manager in model presentations.
• Collect models from various disciplines and generate coordination drawings.
• Create structural and architectural discipline models, and make adjustments according to the latest drawings.
• Coordinate the exchange of BIM data between the site team and the BIM team to ensure accurate, complete, and timely information updates.
• Facilitate cooperation and communication among project site teams, including consultants, general contractors, and owners.
• Complete other BIM-related tasks assigned by the technical manager.
