We are seeking a BESS Specialist (Battery Energy Storage Systems). You will be the technical lead for client's energy storage portfolio. In the context of CRESS, your role is critical in transforming intermittent solar energy into "Firm Power." You will oversee the full lifecycle of battery systems, from sizing and technology selection to integration and performance monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

• System Design & Sizing: Determine optimal battery chemistry and capacity based on project specific discharge requirements and grid constraints
• Integration: Lead the integration of BESS with Solar PV plants and the Energy Management System (EMS)
• Thermal & Safety Management: Ensure all designs account for Malaysias climate, focusing on cooling systems and fire suppression standards
• Performance Analytics: Conduct degradation modeling and Round-Trip Efficiency (RTE) calculations to guarantee long-term project bankability

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience specifically in Battery Storage or large-scale Power Electronics
• Familiarity with Energy Management Systems (EMS) and Power Plant Controllers (PPC)
• Knowledge of Malaysian grid codes and safety regulations regarding energy storage
