Wetown Electric (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to design and deliver Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) solutions for regional renewable energy projects. You will contribute across the solution lifecycle, from system sizing and proposals through integration, project execution and commissioning, while engaging with international customers and project stakeholders.

Join a growing energy storage and power infrastructure team to design and deliver Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) solutions for regional renewable energy projects. You will contribute across the solution lifecycle, from system sizing and technical proposals through integration, project execution, commissioning and customer support, while engaging with international customers, engineering teams and project stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

Develop and design BESS solutions and proposals based on project requirements, application needs and customer specifications.

Perform system sizing and configuration, including battery capacity, power rating, energy requirements and operating parameters.

Develop electrical single-line diagrams, system architectures, equipment layouts and technical specifications.

Coordinate the integration of battery systems, Power Conversion Systems (PCS), Energy Management Systems (EMS), power distribution products such as busduct, transformers, switchgear and associated electrical equipment.

Evaluate system performance, efficiency, operating conditions and technical feasibility.

Work closely with internal engineering and sales teams to support seamless project execution.

Deliver technical presentations and product briefings to customers, consultants, EPC contractors and project developers.

Attend site visits and provide engineering support during installation, commissioning, testing and troubleshooting when required.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Energy Engineering or a related discipline.

At least 5 years of relevant experience in renewable energy, Battery Energy Storage Systems or power distribution.

Proven experience in BESS system design, engineering, proposal development, integration or technical project execution.

Strong understanding of battery technologies, PCS, EMS, energy storage applications and electrical system integration.

Ability to develop and interpret electrical single-line diagrams, technical drawings and engineering specifications.

Strong technical communication, problem-solving and project coordination skills.

Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally based on business requirements.

Good command of written and spoken English; additional regional languages are an advantage.
