Job summary

KCJ ENGINEERING SDN. BHD. is seeking a Building Automation Technician to monitor and operate BCS, assist in BMS, and perform ongoing maintenance of building services in Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Certificate / Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Instrumentation or a related technical field.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in building automation, building control systems or facilities maintenance.
• Fresh graduates with relevant qualifications are encouraged to apply.
• Basic knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS), Building Control Systems (BCS) and building automation.
• Familiar with electrical drawings, control diagrams and manuals.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.
• Able to read electrical drawings and manuals.
• Willing to work at project sites and perform shift duties.

Job description

Monitor and operate the Building Control System (BCS) to ensure efficient operation of building facilities and equipment.

Assist in monitoring and controlling building services through the Building Management System (BMS).

Monitor system parameters, alarms and equipment status to identify abnormalities or potential faults.

Perform routine inspections and basic troubleshooting of building control systems and related equipment.

Assist in preventive and corrective maintenance works for BCS equipment, sensors, controllers and control panels.

Monitor the operation of HVAC systems, ventilation systems, pumps, lighting controls and other integrated building services.

Respond to system alarms, faults and operational issues, and coordinate necessary rectification works.

Assist in testing, calibration and commissioning of sensors, controllers and other building automation equipment.

Coordinate with engineers, technicians, contractors and service providers to ensure maintenance works are completed effectively.

Monitor system performance and ensure building control equipment operates according to the required specifications.

Maintain maintenance records, system logs, inspection reports and documentation.

Assist in identifying system faults and recommend improvements to enhance system reliability and operational efficiency.

Ensure all maintenance and troubleshooting activities comply with safety procedures and technical requirements.

Perform other technical and facilities-related duties assigned by management.

Job Requirements

Certificate / Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Instrumentation or a related technical field.

Minimum 1–3 years of relevant experience in building automation, building control systems or facilities maintenance.

Fresh graduates with relevant technical qualifications are encouraged to apply.

Basic knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS), Building Control Systems (BCS) and building automation.

Familiar with electrical control panels, sensors, actuators, controllers and monitoring systems.

Basic understanding of HVAC systems and other building services.

Able to perform basic troubleshooting, equipment inspection and maintenance activities.

Able to read and understand electrical drawings, control diagrams and technical manuals.

Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Good communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills.

Responsible, proactive and willing to learn new technical systems.

Able to work independently and coordinate with engineers, technicians and contractors.

Willing to work at project sites and perform shift duties when required.
